On the evening of October 24, Bao Lam District Police, Lam Dong Province, said that they had coordinated with professional units to search the residence of Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh, former Vice Chairman of Bao Lam District People's Committee (retired from September 1, 2024).
Authorities have searched Mr. Thanh's private home in Ward 2, Bao Loc City, to collect related documents and evidence.
Mr. Thanh was prosecuted for investigation of violations of land management regulations as prescribed in Clause 2, Article 229 of the Penal Code. Mr. Thanh's violations were related to the land area of Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company (Loc Thang town, Bao Lam district).
Previously, on September 16, Lam Dong Provincial Police prosecuted and temporarily detained two other suspects, Mr. Nguyen Ba Dong, former Head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam district, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hien, an officer of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Bao Lam district, for the same crime.
The subjects had violations related to illegal implementation in advising on the issuance of land allocation decisions and granting land use right certificates at Minh Rong Tea Joint Stock Company, affecting local land management.
After completing the search and performing related procedures, the authorities took Mr. Nguyen Trung Thanh by car to the investigation agency headquarters to continue working.
Lam Dong provincial authorities are continuing to investigate and expand this case to clarify responsibilities and other violations related to land management in the locality.
