As Thanh Nien reported, Nam Chon station is one of the typical military defense works that has remained almost intact since the Nguyen Dynasty, and is now a relic that plays an important role in the culture and tourism of the Hai Van Pass area.
Nam Chon Station has an area of about 1.5 hectares, built in a solid defense style with two layers of walls, a surrounding moat and four gates opening in four directions.
The project was constructed on coastal sandy soil using the technique of stacking stones without mortar, clearly demonstrating the technical level and military strategic thinking of the Nguyen Dynasty.
On the afternoon of June 10, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee and leaders of departments, branches and sectors inspected the landslide situation at the Nam Chon station relic.

At the inspection, the People's Committee of Lien Chieu District; Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Construction; Department of Agriculture and Environment... reported the cause of the landslide, assessed the level of impact and proposed response solutions before this year's rainy season.
Ms. Thi assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Construction and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to conduct geological surveys, immediately implement temporary anti-landslide plans, and at the same time develop long-term stabilization plans to ensure safety for the relic area.
"In the immediate future, we will urgently implement a plan to deal with the erosion situation, paying attention to technical efficiency, investment costs, sustainability and environmental impact. The city has agreed to implement temporary solutions to limit negative developments; continue to research and develop a long-term, fundamental and sustainable plan to fully protect the value of the relic," said Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi.

In addition, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will compile a current status profile, assess the risk of impact on the original elements constituting the relic; research and integrate conservation solutions into the regional development plan, aiming to protect cultural and historical values and restore the coastal ecological environment.
"Nam Chon station relic is a valuable historical heritage, a red address in patriotic education, with potential for developing ecological and cultural tourism. Protecting the original state and landscape of the relic is an urgent task, requiring the synchronous and drastic participation of all levels and sectors," Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized.
