Writer Tran Tuan Vu emotionally shared after watching the movie

Writer Tran Tuan Vu, a veteran, emotionally shared his feelings with To Quoc Online Newspaper: “The film recreates an emotional historical picture, where young girls who had just entered their twenties bravely joined the revolution, ready to put aside all their personal feelings to protect the national flag. They are unsung heroes, representing an entire generation - a generation that always puts love for the homeland and love for the revolution above all else. As a former revolutionary soldier, I feel like I can see myself again, see my comrades who fought side by side in the fierce war of the nation that day.”

“The only thing is, I am luckier than them, I was able to return, continue studying and live in peace ” – Writer Tran Tuan Vu expressed his sorrow for the soldiers who sacrificed their lives.

Not only does it faithfully recreate the historical story, “The White Flower River” also leaves a strong impression on the audience with its impressive camera angles. Duc Anh (19 years old, first-year student at Hanoi College of Arts) shared: The film was released in the 90s, when technology was not yet developed, the effects and images in the film were still very simple and rustic. But I feel that simplicity and rusticity become a unique highlight, making the audience, especially young audiences like me, truly imagine the difficulties and losses of our ancestors’ generation, how much they had to sacrifice.

Besides, “The White Flower River” brings together many famous actors such as People's Artist Tra Giang, People's Artist Le Khanh, Thuong Tin, Diem My, Thuy Nga… this screening is an opportunity for the audience to see them once again on the big screen.

Two young people, Duc Anh (far right) and Phuong Hanh (middle) are among the young audiences who came to see the movie.

Phuong Hanh (25 years old, student at Hanoi College of Arts) said: “The film is not only an opportunity for me to understand more deeply the courage and resilience of Vietnamese women in the past, but also an opportunity for young people like me to enjoy the delicate acting of veteran artists, legends of Vietnamese cinema, who have brought to the audience an extremely emotional and realistic film in every scene.

“I hope that in the future, the Vietnam Film Institute will organize more meaningful film screenings like this. Profound and valuable historical films need to be spread more widely, reaching a large audience, especially the younger generation. That is the way for us to better understand the heroic history that our nation has gone through.” – Phuong Hanh shared more.

Ms. Le Thi Minh Chung (69 years old, former teacher), a loyal audience of historical film screenings for many years, could not hide her happiness when sharing: “This time, I not only saw familiar middle-aged audiences but also recognized many young people who came to watch very attentively. This proves that today's young generation is not indifferent or forgetful of history, but on the contrary, they also love, care about and desire to learn about the country's history. I feel that this is a very encouraging signal and needs to be spread. I hope that in the next film screenings, I can meet and interact with more young people.”
