In recent days, the couple Mau Thi Ngoc Luyen - a household in particularly difficult circumstances in Suoi Me village (Ba Cum Nam commune) were happy when their dream house was almost completed, just waiting for the walls to be painted and the doors to be installed so that the family could move into the new house. Showing us the makeshift, rickety wooden house where the couple has lived for several years, Mrs. Luyen said: “It is called a house but it is very makeshift, hot in the dry season, and leaky in the rainy season. Many rainy nights, my husband, children and I had to take each other to relatives' houses to stay, it was very miserable. But in just a few days, my family will be able to live in a new house, with a living room, 2 bedrooms, private bathroom, brick walls, corrugated iron roof, and tiled floor. With the State's support of 60 million VND to demolish the temporary house, my family borrowed 60 million VND, and then relatives helped with the labor... so we can have this dream house”.

Similarly, the joy of Mr. Mau Chat's family - a near-poor household in Ma O village (Son Trung commune) when they moved into a new house nearly 10 days ago. The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses actively implemented by Khanh Son district has brought great joy to Mr. Chat's family. "These past few days, my wife and I have been extremely happy and could not believe that the dream house of our whole family has come true. Having a new house to live in stably, my family is now focusing on taking care of dozens of newly planted durian trees, trying to work hard to soon escape the near-poor household status," said Mr. Chat.

Identifying the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances as a major policy of the Party, the State, and the province; carrying profound humanitarian significance, lighting up faith and hope for the disadvantaged, in recent times, Khanh Son district has focused its efforts on implementing this program. During the implementation process, the locality also encountered many difficulties in terms of land for house construction, counterpart capital from the people, and labor to build houses for households simultaneously... However, with the determination to complete the program early, the locality has mobilized the entire political system to participate, drastically and strongly implementing solutions. In addition to the support capital from the state budget, the locality has also actively promoted and mobilized households to contribute more to build houses; mobilized support for the program to eliminate temporary houses in the area according to the motto: "Those who have contributed, those who have contributed, those who have little, contribute little, those who have much, contribute much" to build the most spacious houses for households. The district also assigned specific responsibilities to the heads of Party committees, local authorities, and functional agencies to closely follow the progress of each house, from removing difficulties and obstacles to being able to start construction, to urging construction progress, supervising the quality of the project, etc.
