
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were comrade Dao Ngoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions; Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Son La province.
This is one of 13 inter-level schools deployed in Son La province according to the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes; it is one of 100 schools being piloted for new construction and renovation nationwide to serve as a model for replication.

The Long Sap primary and secondary boarding school is being built in Phat village, Long Sap commune, with a total planned construction area of nearly 5 hectares, with a scale of 30 classrooms, receiving more than 1,000 students.
The project includes many modern items, such as: Classrooms, subject classrooms, library, principal's house; dormitory area, public housing; student kitchen and many multi-purpose buildings, swimming pool, outdoor sports field and other auxiliary items... to meet the requirements of teaching, learning and physical training of students.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions affirmed that the school that was inaugurated in Long Sap commune today is a concrete step to realize the aspiration to improve people's knowledge, train human resources, foster talents, and build a fair, comprehensive, and modern education system.
Comrade Dao Ngoc Dung requested that the Party Committees and authorities at all levels of Son La province take strong action, considering this an important political task, proactively and closely coordinating to create all favorable conditions for site clearance, land allocation, and support construction units to ensure progress, quality and absolute safety during the implementation process.

The Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions also requested that the design, construction and supervision units must do their best with all their heart, responsibility and professional ethics, so that the school becomes a symbol of a new, modern, safe, friendly school, worthy of the expectations of the Party, the State and the ethnic people in the border mountainous areas.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Son La province, comrade Nguyen Minh Tien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, expressed his deep gratitude to the Party and State for always paying attention, directing and creating favorable conditions for the school project to be soon implemented in border communes in the province.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province affirmed that he will continue to direct departments, branches and units to closely coordinate to promptly resolve issues arising during the construction process; the education and training sector of the province will prepare staff, teachers and teaching programs so that when the project is completed, it will be put into effective and sustainable operation, truly becoming a school of knowledge, a place to foster the aspirations of ethnic minority children in the border areas of the Fatherland.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, Son La province presented gifts to Long Sap Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities and 10 prestigious people, 20 poor households in villages of Long Sap commune.
Immediately afterwards, the delegates performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Long Sap Commune Primary and Secondary Boarding School, along with 13 schools in border provinces across the country.
