Car driver prosecuted for drifting in front of Opera House

On the morning of April 21, Hoan Kiem District Police ( Hanoi ) announced that they had initiated a case and prosecuted Nguyen Ngoc Thang (born in 1984, in Dong Xuan Ward, Hoan Kiem District) for the crime of Disturbing public order.

Previously, at around 1:30 a.m. on April 17, the police patrolled the area and discovered a NISSAN car driven by Nguyen Ngoc Thang at high speed, revving the engine, and "drifting" many times around the roundabout in front of the Hanoi Opera House, affecting security, order, and safety for traffic participants.

Immediately after that, the working group of Trang Tien Ward Police asked the subject to stop and get out of the car, but he did not comply and drove away. Afterwards, Hoan Kiem District Police summoned Nguyen Ngoc Thang for questioning.

During the investigation, the subject confessed to driving the car, revving the exhaust, and "drifting" in the area of ​​August Revolution Square and the roundabout in front of the Hanoi Opera House in the early morning of April 16 and April 17.

Currently, Hoan Kiem District Police are consolidating records and handling the subject according to the provisions of law.
