In 2025, the Vietnamese team participating in the European Physics Olympiad consists of 5 members selected by the Vietnam Physics Association from students who won prizes in the national excellent student selection exam in the 2024-2025 school year.

Sharing with VietNamNet on the afternoon of June 17, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Cao Khang - lecturer at Hanoi National University of Education, Head of the Vietnamese delegation to the competition, said that 4/5 students of the Vietnamese team won medals.

Among them, the two students who won Gold Medals were Nguyen Tran Hieu ( Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted, Bac Ninh province) and Nguyen Le Dang Khoa (Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University).

The student who won the Silver Medal was Tran Nguyen Khai (Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An). Cap Kim Hoang Bao (Le Quy Don High School for the Gifted, Da Nang ) won the Bronze Medal and Ha Tuan Kiet (Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted) received a certificate of merit.

According to Mr. Khang, this is the best achievement of Vietnamese students in 7 times participating in this intellectual playground. In the previous 6 times participating, Vietnam only won 3 Gold Medals (to date there are a total of 5 Gold Medals).

Last year, the Vietnamese team participating in the European Physics Olympiad only won 1 Silver Medal and 3 Bronze Medals.

The European Physics Olympiad (EuPhO) is an annual continental Physics competition for high school students across Europe and some guest countries, including Vietnam.

This is a prestigious Physics competition in the world, along with the International Physics Olympiad (IPhO) and the Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO). Each participating country sends 5 students to participate in 2 parts: theory (5 hours) and practice (5 hours).

In 2025, the 9th European Physics Olympiad will be held in Bulgaria from June 13 to June 17, bringing together more than 200 students from 29 countries and territories around the world.
