Prosecution of the case, temporary detention of the driver who caused a series of accidents at the intersection of Vo Chi Cong - Xuan La

On April 6, Hanoi City Police announced that the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ho District Police had issued a decision to prosecute and temporarily detain driver Hoang Ngoc Vinh, born in 1960, residing in Bo De Ward (Long Bien, Hanoi) for the crime of "Violating regulations on road traffic participation" under Article 260 of the 2015 Penal Code.

Previously, at around 1:30 p.m. on April 5, Mr. Hoang Ngoc Vinh drove a Kia forte car with license plate 29A-083.12 from his home at 59/200/28 Nguyen Son Street, Bo De Ward (Long Bien, Hanoi) to Hanoi Heart Hospital (branch 2) on Vo Chi Cong Street for a medical examination. At 4 p.m. the same day, on the way to take his wife home, Mr. Vinh lost control of his speed, causing the car to collide with 17 motorbikes moving at the Vo Chi Cong - Xuan La intersection. As a result, 18 people were injured, including 2 young children. Immediately after the accident, the police and local people took the victims to the emergency room and no deaths were recorded. Test results showed that the driver had no alcohol concentration and tested negative for drugs. The case is currently being investigated by the Investigation Police Agency of Tay Ho District Police and will be strictly handled according to the provisions of law.
