No one wins in a war between Russia and America

"Only when a real conflict breaks out can we decide which army is number one, number two or number 21. It would be wrong to say that the US army is number one, and the Russian army is number two. When hostilities break out, it is difficult to say who will win? Obviously, there will be no winners," said Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.

Mr Medvedev warned that a potential confrontation between Russia and the US “would have disastrous consequences”. “And it would be impossible to say whose army is superior”, he added.

Earlier, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council drew a "red line" between direct military confrontation between Russia and NATO. He said that NATO's delivery of fighter jets to Kiev would mean going to war against Russia.

Mr. Medvedev noted that the training of Ukrainian soldiers to operate tanks on EU territory has been carried out, but if that continues with the delivery and training of fighter jets in Poland, “it will be a direct military intervention by NATO against Russia.”

The recently released "Threat Assessment 2023" report by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence of the United States said that Russia does not want a direct military conflict with US and NATO forces.

According to the report, Russia will continue to use a range of tools to advance what it sees as its own interests and attempt to undermine those of the United States and its allies.

Last month, President Putin accused the West of being determined to destroy Russia, and asserted that the military campaign in Ukraine was part of a fight for Russia's own survival.

Amid the continuous flow of Western military support into Ukraine, President Putin assessed that this conflict is a real fight between Russia and not only Ukraine but also NATO.

Russia has repeatedly accused the US and its allies of deliberately trying to prolong the conflict, warning the West not to provide weapons to Ukraine, stressing that this would only escalate the conflict and cause unnecessary casualties without changing the situation of the war.
