According to the Ministry of Health , since May, there have been many heavy rains causing local flooding and landslides in some localities and it is forecasted that in the coming time, there will be storms and many heavy rains.
To proactively prevent and combat diseases that may occur during and after floods, storms, and heavy rains, the Ministry of Health recommends that people eat cooked food and boiled water, and absolutely do not use dead livestock or poultry as food or to process food. For areas affected by floods and landslides that cause isolation, there should be plans to ensure the supply of safe food, food, and drinking water. Encourage people to use processed foods, ready-to-eat foods such as dry food, instant noodles, and bottled drinking water.

The Ministry of Health recommends that people in flood-affected areas regularly wash their hands with soap before and after preparing food, before eating, and after using the toilet.
Practice personal hygiene daily, wash feet and dry between toes after contact with flood water or contaminated water. Clean as the water recedes, collect and dispose of dead animals and poultry according to the instructions of health workers.
In case water sources such as wells and open wells are flooded, they must be filtered and disinfected before use. Clean water tanks, wells, water containers and use chemicals to disinfect drinking water and domestic water according to the instructions of medical staff.
The Ministry of Health also warns that floods and storms can cause diseases transmitted through the digestive tract (acute diarrhea, cholera, dysentery, typhoid, hepatitis A); respiratory diseases (colds, flu, sore throat, respiratory tract infections); pink eye; skin diseases (foot and hand fungus and some skin infections); dengue fever.
Therefore, the Ministry of Health recommends that people sleep under mosquito nets, wear long clothes to prevent mosquito bites even during the day, cover all water containers to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs, remove waste such as bottles, jars, car tires, etc. or natural water holes to prevent mosquitoes from laying eggs, and spray chemicals to kill mosquitoes in high-risk areas to prevent dengue fever.
Do not wash your face or bathe with dirty water, do not let children bathe or play with dirty water and wash your hands with soap and clean water to prevent pink eye.
