Mr. Pham Van Hung Em - Principal of Dinh My Secondary School shared: "The scholarship fund has helped reduce the burden on parents and given more motivation to poor but studious students. This is not only a material support but also a spiritual encouragement, helping teachers and students of the school to be more determined in teaching and learning."
Mr. Tran Quang Xuyen - Chairman of the Board of Management of the Scholarship Fund - Talent Promotion proudly said: "The fund was established in 2017 with an initial amount of 650 million VND. Thanks to the consensus of the locality, philanthropists and especially generations of successful alumni, up to now, the total amount has exceeded 1 billion VND. In the 2025 - 2026 school year, the Board of Management of the Scholarship Fund - Talent Promotion of Dinh My Secondary School has awarded 69 scholarships, with a total amount of nearly 50 million VND".
The fund has become a strong “knowledge bank”, ensuring that no student has to drop out of school for financial reasons”, that is the core role of the scholarship fund - scholarship fund. “The fund's goal is to create a long-term resource. Over the years, the fund has awarded scholarships to hundreds of high school and university students (who used to study at the school) from the annual surplus interest, not only helping poor students overcome difficulties but also rewarding teachers and students with excellent achievements, at the same time supporting textbooks, buying health insurance cards for students in especially difficult circumstances”, Mr. Pham Van Hung Em added.
Along with the career of promoting education, the Hieu Duc award is a special gift for students of Dinh My Secondary School initiated by Mr. Vo Ngoc Ve's family. In the 2025-2026 school year, the award will be given to 5 students with filial piety with an amount of 5.5 million VND. Mr. Ve expressed: "This is the amount of money my family contributed and will continue to maintain every year to encourage and motivate poor students to not only be studious but also filial to their family and teachers. I believe that a student with good ethics and filial piety will have extraordinary determination to overcome all circumstances and conquer knowledge persistently and steadfastly."
Huynh Anh Ngoc, a student of class 7A4 at Dinh My Secondary School, choked up and said: “My family is in a difficult situation. Since my parents divorced, my mother has become the sole breadwinner. My mother works as a factory worker with a meager salary, struggling to raise her children and at the same time take care of her elderly grandparents. My mother also has a serious lung disease, and her health is gradually deteriorating over time.” Because of this situation, Ngoc has matured earlier than her peers. She studies by herself, proactively guides her younger brother in his studies, and spends time helping her grandparents with housework such as cooking, doing laundry, and washing dishes. For Ngoc, these small tasks are the only way for her to show her filial piety.
The scholarship and talent encouragement fund and the Hieu Duc reward of Dinh My Secondary School not only provide timely support to students but also demonstrate the solidarity of the whole community working together for the future generation.
