Strengthening the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses

Members of the Steering Committee include: Comrade Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Comrade Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security; Comrade Nguyen Van Thang, Minister of Finance; Comrade Tran Hong Minh, Minister of Construction; Comrade Tran Van Son, Minister, Head of the Government Office; Comrade Do Duc Duy, Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Comrade Pham Thi Thanh Tra, Minister of Home Affairs; Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam; Comrade Nguyen Thanh Lam, General Director of Vietnam Television; Comrade Do Tien Sy, General Director of Voice of Vietnam ; Comrade Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency; Comrade To Thi Bich Chau, Vice President, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Comrade Nong Thi Ha, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.
Functions, tasks and powers of the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee is an inter-sectoral coordination organization, whose function is to assist the Prime Minister in directing and coordinating the resolution of important, inter-sectoral tasks related to the implementation of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.
The Steering Committee is responsible for advising and proposing specific and effective plans, solutions and methods to basically complete the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide by October 31, 2025, including 3 programs: Housing support for people with revolutionary contributions; housing support according to national target programs; eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households; directing relevant ministries, agencies and localities to closely coordinate and focus on promptly resolving difficulties and problems in the implementation process.
Organization and operation of the Steering Committee
The Steering Committee works part-time, promotes personal responsibility, performs functions, tasks and powers according to the Regulations on organization and operation of the Steering Committee issued by the Head of the Steering Committee.
The Head of the Steering Committee uses the Prime Minister's seal; the Deputy Heads and Members use the seal of the governing body.
The Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions is the standing body of the Steering Committee, developing the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Steering Committee and submitting them to the Head of the Steering Committee for signature and promulgation; using the existing apparatus to organize the implementation of tasks assigned by the Steering Committee, ensuring that the Ministry's staff assigned by the competent authority is not increased.
The Steering Committee dissolves itself after completing its tasks.
Decision 808/QD-TTg takes effect from April 23, 2025 and replaces Decision No. 1243/QD-TTg dated October 22, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide; Decision No. 1623/QD-TTg dated December 21, 2024 of the Prime Minister on supplementing and perfecting the members of the Central Steering Committee to implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide.
