Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City won the first leg of the 2025 National Futsal Championship

On the evening of May 18, at the District 8 Futsal Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City), the remaining two matches of round 7 of the 2025 National Futsal Championship took place. The highlight was the match between Thai Son Nam Club, Ho Chi Minh City and Sahako FC.

When the two teams were creating a balanced game, Sahako FC's mistake in changing personnel caused them to concede a goal in the 7th minute. Realizing that the two substitute players of the away team were not yet stable in their positions, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City organized a quick attack and Van Hoai finished with a decisive shot, defeating goalkeeper Minh Quang.

The opening goal added to the home team's excitement. In the 13th minute, Nguyen Thinh Phat seized the opportunity from a teammate's sideline kick to tap in the ball, raising the score to 2-0.

Leading by two goals, Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City showed signs of complacency. On the contrary, Sahako FC pushed up their formation. The visitors' attacking efforts were rewarded in the 37th minute, when player Tran Nhat Trung scored to reduce the score to 1-2. In the remaining three minutes, Sahako FC increased the pressure on the home team. However, coach Nguyen Tuan Anh and his team were still brave enough to maintain the 1-goal gap until the referee blew the final whistle.

Thai Son Nam Ho Chi Minh City won the first leg of the 2025 National Futsal Championship with a perfect 21 points. The defending champions created a gap of 5 points and 10 points over the two teams behind them, Thai Son Bac and Saigon Titans, respectively. Meanwhile, Sahako FC also had 11 points like Saigon Titans but ranked behind due to a lower secondary index.

In the remaining match on May 18, Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City made an excellent comeback to win 3-2 against the bottom team Luxury Ha Long. This was also Tan Hiep Hung Ho Chi Minh City's first victory of the season, helping them create good psychological momentum before entering the second leg.

In the remaining positions on the Ranking after the first leg, Thai Son Bac Club maintained impressive form with 5 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, ranking 2nd with 16 points. Saigon Titans and Sahako teams both had 11 points, ranking 3rd and 4th respectively. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Youth Teams also maintained fierce competition with the following rankings.

The return leg of the tournament will kick off on May 22, promising to continue to bring more exciting and dramatic matches, especially in the top half of the rankings when teams will be determined to break away to compete for the title.
