On May 27, in Hohhot city (Inner Mongolia, China), head coach Cristiano Roland and representatives of the Vietnam U16 team attended a press conference ahead of the CFA Team China 2025 International U16 Football Tournament.
Speaking to the media, coach Cristiano Roland affirmed the team's determination and serious preparation: "We have spent two weeks training hard in Hanoi and are very happy to return to China. This tournament is an important opportunity to prepare for the 2026 AFC U17 qualifiers. The participating teams are all of high quality, but we will do our best to show our best in each match."
On the same day, Head of Delegation Nguyen Minh Chau and members of the Coaching Board attended a technical meeting with the Organizing Committee and representatives of the participating teams.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Chau thanked the Chinese Football Federation and the Organizing Committee for the thoughtful reception, and affirmed that U16 Vietnam will play with dedication, contributing to the overall success of the tournament.
At the technical meeting, the Organizing Committee also announced the tournament regulations and some technical adjustments. Accordingly, each team is allowed to make a maximum of 6 substitutions in 3 rounds, not counting substitutions during the break between the two halves. This is a favorable condition for the teams to experiment with the lineup and create conditions for many players to compete.
On the afternoon of May 27, coach Cristiano Roland and his team had an official practice session to familiarize themselves with the field - Football Channel. According to the coaching staff, the field is of good quality, meeting international standards, promising to bring favorable playing conditions for the teams.
In this year's tournament, U16 Vietnam is in a difficult group when it will face U16 Australia (May 28), U16 China (May 30) and U16 Saudi Arabia (June 1). This is an important opportunity for young Vietnamese players to gain international competition experience and test their progress after a period of thorough preparation.
