According to information from the Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Customs Branch ( Quang Ninh Customs Department), from the beginning of 2024 to September 13, 2024, the Branch has processed 2,823 declarations of enterprises importing and exporting goods through Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate (Hai Ha) with a total turnover of more than 44.5 million USD, an increase of 2.92% in declarations and 2.53% in turnover compared to the same period in 2023.

However, the import-export turnover alone (including official and border resident goods) in the third quarter of 2024 through Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate only reached more than 9.9 million USD with 768 declarations, a decrease of 22.03% in the number of declarations and a decrease of 30.08% in turnover compared to the second quarter of 2024.

According to the assessment of Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate Customs Branch, the import-export turnover in the third quarter of 2024 through Bac Phong Sinh border gate decreased compared to the second quarter of 2024 due to the tightening of goods management policies, increasing the rate and time of inspection, control and traceability of frozen agricultural and aquatic products.

Along with that, at Km10+400 National Highway 18B, the landslide that occurred on August 20 has not been repaired yet, completely cutting off the route from Bac Phong Sinh Border Gate connecting to National Highway 18A, causing disruption and affecting the transportation and circulation of import and export goods through the area. Some enterprises exporting frozen seafood and agricultural products have shifted their goods to border gates in Mong Cai and Binh Lieu for export.
