In order to promote the people's mastery and create collective strength in solving common tasks in residential areas, in recent times, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has directed and guided the establishment of thousands of self-management groups in many areas of social life. Most of the self-management groups maintain regular activities with specific methods, suitable to the conditions of each residential area and the needs and aspirations of the people. Members of the self-management groups actively contribute to ensuring traffic safety, security and order, reconciling conflicts and disunity among the people; maintaining good cultural and artistic activities, physical training and sports; propagating and mobilizing people to unite and help each other develop the economy ; practicing a cultural and civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals; participating in environmental sanitation, contributing to and supervising the construction of welfare works and cultural institutions in villages, hamlets and residential groups.
Up to now, the province has established 4,131 self-managed groups and clusters, mobilizing the participation of a large number of people, thereby raising awareness and sense of responsibility of individuals and organizations for ensuring security and order, building solidarity and self-management from the grassroots level.
Chairwoman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Mao Khe Ward, Vuong Thi Thu Ha, said: Immediately after implementing the 2-level local government model, the Fatherland Front of the ward coordinated with the ward police to reorganize the security and order self-management teams in 47 neighborhoods with a total of 244 members. The teams actively propagated and mobilized people to comply with the Party's policies and the State's laws; reformed and helped people who had made mistakes to reform; provided 85 valuable information on the security and order situation, social evils, and coordinated in handling 69 incidents related to security and order..., contributing to building an increasingly stable and strong locality, without hot spots of security and order.

The Fatherland Front at all levels has also established and effectively maintained many self-management models in the field of environmental protection, such as: Lighting up rural roads; model roads; recycling products from plastic waste; planting, caring for, managing, and protecting flower roads to build model new rural areas..., contributing to building urban beauty and improving people's quality of life.
Previously, in Yet Kieu 6 neighborhood (Hong Gai ward), there were 3 illegal garbage collection points in vacant lots. Every year, the People's Committee of the ward and neighborhood spent a lot of money and working days to clean up, but after a short time, the above situation recurred, making people very upset.
In order to thoroughly overcome this situation, the People's Committee and the Fatherland Front of the ward have coordinated to establish a self-management team "Residential area for environmental protection" in Yet Kieu 6 ward with the core force being the People's Protection Team. This force operates according to different time frames, ensuring the effectiveness of the model. The Front Work Committee of the ward has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people to maintain environmental hygiene; equipped over 300 covered garbage bins at households to collect garbage; implemented the "Green Sunday" movement, cleaning up weeds and rubbish in vacant lots... Up to now, the ward has eliminated illegal garbage collection points, and people's awareness of environmental protection has been raised.
By building and replicating self-management models in residential areas, the Fatherland Front at all levels in the province has contributed to promoting the spirit of solidarity in the residential community, raising people's awareness and responsibility in building cultural residential areas, new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and competing to successfully carry out socio-economic development tasks in the locality.
