Room occupancy rate is high

According to records at this time, hotels and resorts in the city are all "sold out". Many hotels were fully booked for the final night half a month in advance.

Located in a “prime” location, near the international fireworks display area, Melia Vinpearl Danang Riverfront Hotel (Tran Hung Dao Street) has 864 rooms. On the final night of DIFF 2025, room occupancy reached 80-90%, of which 70-80% of guests booked very early to choose rooms with large spaces, where they could watch the fireworks. Similarly, on the nights of DIFF, Hadana Boutique Hotel (Pham Van Dong Street) also achieved very good occupancy.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Executive Director of Hadana Boutique Hotel, said that Hadana has 2 hotels in Da Nang (52 rooms) and Hoi An. On the final night of the fireworks, the room occupancy rate of the hotel in Da Nang (95 rooms) reached 92-95%, and in Hoi An it reached about 70-80%.

According to Ms. Lien, during the DIFF in June and July, the number of visitors to Da Nang increased, both domestic and international. The city continuously organized major cultural events and tourism festivals, including DIFF, showing its proactiveness in connecting and approaching old and new tourist markets. This shows that the city has clear goals and directions in attracting visitors to Da Nang, especially key tourist markets.

Sharing the same opinion, Mr. Pham Xuan Thang, Executive Director of Hai An RiverFront Hotel (Bach Dang Street) assessed that on the nights of fireworks, the hotel's room occupancy rate was very good, often reaching 90%. On the final night alone, 86 rooms of the hotel were booked very early.

“The major events and festivals held in Da Nang have contributed to attracting a large number of visitors to come and stay in the city. From this foundation, tourism service businesses hope that the city’s tourism industry will have more activities and festival events spread throughout the year. There needs to be new, suitable tourism products to increase the length of stay of visitors in Da Nang not only in the summer but also in other months of the year,” Mr. Thang said.

The boost from the festival event

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quynh, Chairman of the Danang Hotel Association and General Director of Furama Resort Danang, coastal resorts and 5-star hotels, including Furama Resort, were all fully booked for the DIFF final night very early.

Explaining this, Mr. Quynh said that after 17 years and 13 times of organization, DIFF has become a unique brand of Da Nang and the fireworks shows are highly anticipated by tourists every summer.

Thanks to major events and festivals such as DIFF, Da Nang Asian Film Festival, Summer Enjoyment Festival, Vietnam - Japan Cultural Exchange Festival... regularly held, it has contributed to increasing the experience for locals and tourists. At the same time, it has increased the competitiveness of domestic and regional destinations as well as created a boost to attract domestic and international tourists.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the total number of guests served by accommodation establishments during the month of the DIFF 2025 qualifying round (from May 31 to June 30) reached about 1.17 million, an increase of nearly 10.3% over the same period in 2024. The first 5 fireworks nights alone attracted nearly 400,000 guests, equivalent to the total number of guests for the entire DIFF season last year.

On the final night of DIFF 2025, the city's total room capacity is expected to reach about 95% (an increase of 3% compared to the final night of DIFF 2024), of which 4-5 star hotels and equivalent will reach about 90-95%; 3-star hotels and below and equivalent will reach about 95-100%.

The room occupancy rate for the final night was the highest among the nights of DIFF 2025 (20% higher than the opening night). In addition to hotels, Da Nang currently has 23 cruise ships with 2,512 seats, with ticket sales capacity reaching nearly 100%.

The International Fireworks Festival has contributed significantly to the service revenue of Da Nang city. In June 2025, revenue from accommodation, food and beverage and travel services across the city is estimated at about VND 3,869 billion, an increase of 22% over the same period in 2024.

According to the City Statistics Office, in the first 6 months of 2025, the total number of visitors served by accommodation establishments in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at 5.8 million, an increase of 18.9% over the same period in 2024. Of which, international visitors reached 2.6 million, an increase of 31.4%; domestic visitors reached 3.2 million, an increase of 10.6% over the same period in 2024.

The average number of overnight guests in the first 6 months of 2025 is estimated at 1.82 days/visit; of which international guests have an average stay of 2 days/visit, significantly higher than domestic guests with 1.62 days/visit.
