Kinhtedothi- Within the framework of the 5th Culture - Tourism Week and the 2nd Kon Tum Province Gong and Xoang Festival of Ethnic Minorities in 2024, on the morning of December 12, Kon Tum province opened the Tourism Culinary Creativity Contest.

With the theme “The Quintessence of the Mountainous Region”, the competition gathers 32 teams and is divided into 2 groups. Accordingly, group A will have 16 teams from kitchens in Kon Tum province. Group B will have 16 teams from Dak Lak, Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Ben Tre , Tien Giang, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Nghe An, Phu Yen provinces.

Kon Tum is known as a place that preserves unique culinary values, closely associated with the lives of local ethnic groups, making tourists fall in love. Therefore, the contest is an activity to promote and honor the culinary cultural values ​​of ethnic minorities in the Central Highlands. At the same time, it arouses national pride in the richness of cuisine, contributing to the preservation and promotion of traditional culinary cultural values ​​of Vietnam in general and Kon Tum province in particular.

Ms. Le Thi Tien - Director of Kon Tum Tourism Promotion Information Center, Deputy Organizing Committee of the Contest believes that with the determination of the organizing committee, the enthusiasm and responsibility of the coordinating agencies and units and the spirit of the teams, the Kon Tum Tourism Culinary Creation Contest will be a great success. Promoting the unique culinary culture value with many highly appreciated dishes, urging diners to want to experience every time they set foot in Kon Tum.

Thanks to promoting its strengths, in 2024, Kon Tum province's trade and services increased by nearly 7%. In particular, the province's tourism industry continued to flourish with many unique tourism, cultural and artistic programs and activities attracting a large number of tourists to the province. Up to now, the whole province has attracted 2,300,000 visitors, reaching more than 135% of the plan, with Kon Plong district alone attracting 1,200,000 visitors. Total revenue reached about 690 billion VND, exceeding the set plan.
