On April 17, news from the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that the Director of the Department of Education and Training issued a disciplinary decision in the form of a warning to Mr. Le Van Thai, Principal of Buon Ma Thuot High School.

Buon Ma Thuot High School Principal allowed many violations to occur, received disciplinary warning

According to the decision, Mr. Thai was disciplined with a warning due to violations in management work regarding the implementation of professional regulations; grassroots democracy regulations and financial and asset management in the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years.

As reported by Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper many times, at the end of 2023, the People's Inspectorate and many officials and teachers of Buon Ma Thuot High School continuously submitted petitions reflecting their indignation about the statements, leadership, management and violations in financial work of Mr. Le Van Thai.

September 2024, Inspectors of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province concluded that the inspection showed many violations at the oldest high school in Dak Lak province.

In which, although the subordinates explained the regulations, the Principal did not agree and received overtime pay for himself, which was not in accordance with regulations, of more than 43 million VND.

Buon Ma Thuot High School celebrates 70 years of establishment and development but has been plagued by scandals for many years.

In the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years, Buon Ma Thuot High School spent many incorrect and overspent state budget items with a total amount of more than 419 million VND.

The school collects operating expenses for the Parents' Association at an average of 150,000 VND/student/year, which is incorrect. Every month (2 years), cleaning supplies are purchased for more than 70 million VND, but this is not based on actual needs.

Collecting wages, cleaning supplies for the school yard, and taking care of trees for the 2023-2024 school year at the rate of 90,000 VND/student/year is not in accordance with the instructions with an amount of more than 158 million VND. The unit did not account for the rent of the canteen and school yard but transferred the accounting to the grassroots Trade Union, which is not in accordance with regulations with an amount of more than 381 million VND...

The Inspectorate of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province requested to recover and pay to the state budget more than 419 million VND spent on incorrect policies, standards, and norms. Recover and return to the school's Parents' Representative Board more than 74 million VND spent incorrectly. Refund to parents of students more than 158 million VND collected incorrectly for the 2023-2024 school year...
