Celebrating 20 years of cooperation between Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Aquitaine region (France)

Attending from the Aquitaine region were Mr. Alain Rousset - Chairman of the Regional Council; Mr. Dinh Toan Thang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the French Republic.

On the Lao Cai side, there were Mr. Hoang Giang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Ly Thi Vinh, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission; Ms. Giang Thi Dung, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Tourism , Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies - Enterprises Bloc and Bac Ha District People's Committee.

At the meeting, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Giang emphasized: After more than 20 years of cooperation and 5 stages of signing, the Aquitaine Region has helped Lao Cai province develop a master plan for tourism as a basis for building and developing Lao Cai tourism with high quality; especially supporting the development of Sa Pa urban tourism planning to become a national tourist area, aiming to become an international tourist area.

The Aquitaine region has also supported Lao Cai province in training French, training in rescue, developing adventure sports and promoting tourism products on Fanpage and Website; supporting income improvement for ethnic minorities based on sustainable agriculture , contributing to the protection of natural resources and conservation of indigenous genetic resources. The cooperation results between Lao Cai and Aquitaine are assessed by the Government, ministries, branches and experts of Vietnam as scientific, high-quality and an effective tool for tourism, urban and agricultural management in Lao Cai province.

Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Hoang Giang presented a souvenir to the Chairman of the Aquitaine Regional Council.

Mr. Alain Rousset - Chairman of the Aquitaine Regional Council affirmed: Cooperation between the Aquitaine Region and Lao Cai province is a good, effective, and right-oriented model, contributing significantly to the cooperation results in the 50 years of establishing relations between Vietnam and the French Republic.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Deputy Secretary Hoang Giang and Aquitaine Regional Council Chairman Alain Rousset hoped that in the coming period, the cooperative relationship between the two sides will bring good results. Continue to strengthen the cooperative relationship, focusing on the fields of protecting and promoting the value of cultural and natural heritages; training and developing human resources; researching, building and developing tourism products and adventure sports; developing ecological agriculture, medicinal herbs, forestry; exploiting sustainable water resources, hatching salmon eggs in Sa Pa; environmental education and scientific research.
