Journalist Pham Hong Ninh, Head of the Vietnam News Agency's Lao Cai Office, has been working in journalism for 26 years, of which nearly 10 years he has been residing in Lao Cai. As someone with experience in the profession and many years residing in Quang Ninh and Ha Nam , when assigned to work in the mountainous, border province of Lao Cai, he quickly overcame initial difficulties, quickly got into the swing of things, grasped the area, and promptly reflected local activities on the products of the Vietnam News Agency.
Unable to count all the news, articles, and propaganda photos about Lao Cai in the publications of Vietnam News Agency, journalist Hong Ninh is always proud to maintain the prestige of the permanent agency representing the National News Agency in the locality.
Journalist Hong Ninh confided: For me, the times I reported on floods in Lao Cai province left the most unforgettable emotions. Only by going directly to the areas that were severely damaged by floods can I fully understand the difficulties and hardships of the people and the Party Committee and government in Lao Cai province.
In particular, during the flood caused by storm No. 3 in September 2024 in Lang Nu (Bao Yen district), or Nam Tong, Kho Vang (Bac Ha district), I cannot forget the first images when approaching the scene. Although I tried my best, I felt that what I wrote was not enough, not enough to reflect the loss and difficulties of the people, not enough to help them more to contribute to easing the pain of losing loved ones and losing everything that I had worked hard to achieve for many years.

Journalist Nguyen An Kien, resident reporter for Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in Lao Cai, always keeps in mind that he must use the simplest language to tell authentic and humane stories to everyone.
After nearly 10 years of living in the land where he was born and raised, he said: The most "happy" and "hardest" thing in the past 10 years is being "alone". Being independent and flexible, but also lonely, easily losing control if you cannot "manage" yourself.
When writing each work, journalist An Kien always upholds the spirit of learning from Uncle Ho: "Who to write for? What to write for? How to write?", from there pondering and being aware of each sentence, word, plus the mission of journalists in general and VOV reporters in particular. With seriousness in work, journalist An Kien has had many works win Central and provincial journalism awards, including the B prize of the National Journalism Award for Party building (Golden Hammer and Sickle).
Not only journalists Pham Hong Ninh and Nguyen An Kien, there are also dozens of journalists from central press agencies residing in the province. They are like hard-working bees, quietly telling stories from the border region of Lao Cai to newspaper readers, radio listeners, and domestic and foreign television viewers about the "flow" of politics, economics, society, tourism...; humane stories about people, contributing to spreading good values in society.
According to the assessment of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, the representative offices and resident reporters of the Central press agencies in Lao Cai have closely followed the economic, cultural, social, security and order activities and events of the locality and have propagated and reflected them in a timely, multi-dimensional and diverse manner on various types of press. Each year, they have produced thousands of news and articles on social life, major decisions, leadership and direction of leaders and agencies and units in the province. Thereby, helping cadres, party members and people to have full access to official information on the Party's policies and guidelines, the State's policies and laws as well as those of the province; orienting public opinion, creating high consensus, striving to effectively implement the programs, goals and projects set out by the province.

Comrade Duong Duc Huy, Standing Committee Member, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, affirmed that over the years, representative offices and resident reporters of central press agencies in Lao Cai have made many important contributions to socio-economic development and promoting the image, natural beauty, culture and people of Lao Cai to domestic and foreign friends and tourists.
Regardless of whether working in favorable or difficult areas, the team of reporters always strives to affirm their pioneering role on the information and propaganda front, while demonstrating the mettle of revolutionary journalists. Recognizing the position, role and mission of the press as well as the team of reporters and journalists, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of the province and localities have paid much attention and encouraged the team of journalists in general and resident reporters in particular; there is a close connection, regular exchange, sharing, providing information and timely feedback, creating the best conditions for journalists to work.

Resident reporters in Lao Cai are not just journalists, but also researchers, analysts, and true reflectors of local life. Despite many challenges, they continue to strive to bring in-depth articles, contributing to raising social awareness and promoting the development of the country's border areas.
