Young engineer dedicated to his profession

Born and raised in Ben Luc, where the Vam Co River flows through prosperous villages, Nguyen Minh Quan soon acquired the tenacity and hard-working spirit of a farmer in the Southwest.

Entering the electricity industry in 2014, he gradually rose from the position of technical officer , then was trusted by his colleagues, and the leadership of Ben Luc Electricity ( Long An Electricity Company) entrusted him with the role of Deputy Head of Planning - Technical Department. It was a tireless journey, filled with sweat of the "Good Young Worker" nationwide in 2025, recently recognized by the Central Youth Union.

As Deputy Head of Planning and Engineering, Mr. Quan undertakes important tasks such as developing investment plans, monitoring grid operations, controlling technical indicators, etc. These tasks require a high level of systematization and accuracy. He always works with a meticulous, decisive attitude and especially does not stray from reality. He often goes to the field with his colleagues to survey and directly grasp the situation to ensure that the proposals and technical solutions are practical, effective and economical.

Not stopping there, he is also a person who constantly innovates and creates. Most notably, the initiative "Solution to prevent wire breaks at equipment connection locations" has been researched, tested and applied in practice since 2023. This initiative has completely eliminated the phenomenon of wire breaks at improved locations, helping to improve the stability and reliability of the distribution power system, while significantly shortening the power outage time to only 41.43 minutes/customer (SAIDI) and 0.3454 times/customer (SAIFI). This initiative was recognized by the Southern Power Corporation, demonstrating his creativity and outstanding practical contributions to the electricity industry. Thanks to initiatives on incident reduction, many key areas in Ben Luc district have gradually stabilized, reduced risks and improved reliability.

Head of Planning and Engineering Department - Duong Thanh Duoc, said: “Quan is a young officer with good professional capacity, careful work, logical thinking, and a clear and neat way of solving work. I highly appreciate Quan's learning spirit and initiative in all assigned tasks. He is one of the young personnel with long-term prospects”.

From the early days of inexperience, facing complex situations on the grid, to balancing between professional work and management roles, he always chose an open-minded attitude, constantly learning and practicing. He has fully participated in intensive training courses on power grids, equipment operation management, and improving his English skills. All to better serve his work, not only for himself, but also to set an example, support and inspire the young generation of electricians.

With the emulation titles of "Emulation Fighter at the Base" or "Advanced Worker" in 2024, he is always associated with the image of a young electrician who is always concerned with his work, ready to "commit" to creating new solutions, promoting the development of the collective of cadres and employees at Ben Luc Power Company in particular.

Many times, in the middle of the night or on holidays, he and his colleagues still quietly set out to maintain the electricity supply to each household and business. He has overcome all challenges and hardships positively, and has faced many dangers at work. For him, the job is not just a duty - but a silent commitment. "Electricity is the lifeline - losing power means losing everything. Every time it is restored in time, there is an extra joy" - Mr. Quan shared.

In addition to his expertise, Mr. Quan is also an active and exemplary Youth Union officer, playing an important role in many youth movement activities of Long An Electricity.

With the spirit of "wherever there is a need, there are young people, wherever there is difficulty, there are young people", he is always a pioneer in humanitarian blood donation programs, supporting people in remote areas, giving gifts to poor but studious students, supporting to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, showing gratitude to families with meritorious services, etc. in the locality. He is a familiar face in the campaigns "Youth Month", "Volunteer Campaign" or "Youth join hands to build new countryside".

Not only is he a contributor, he also comes up with ideas, connects resources, and mobilizes his colleagues to participate in practical activities such as installing lights on rural roads, donating solar power systems to households in difficult circumstances, contributing to bringing light to places that lack conditions.

With his outstanding contributions, in 2025, Mr. Nguyen Minh Quan was honored to be recognized as the 15th National “Excellent Young Worker” and was one of 11 outstanding members of the Vietnam Electricity Group to be honored. This is not only a worthy reward for him but also a source of pride for the Ben Luc Electricity Company and Long An Electricity Company. His journey is a living testament to the spirit of “Creative Youth – Overcoming Difficulties and Rising Up”./.
