Expectations ahead of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Algeria

The historical and cultural foundations and similarities in the stances of the two countries are important bases for Vietnam and Algeria to continue to elevate their relations and strengthen cooperation for common interests.

Last weekend, Vietnamese Ambassador to Algeria Tran Quoc Khanh gave an interview to reporters from the Algerian News Agency (APS), the revolutionary daily El Moudjahid and the satellite channel ESSALAM TV about the official visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Algeria from November 18-20.

According to a VNA reporter in Algiers, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh said the traditional friendship between the two countries has been forged through periods of revolutionary struggle and nurtured by many generations of leaders of both sides.

The historical and cultural foundations and similarities in the stances of the two countries are important bases for Vietnam and Algeria to continue to elevate their relations and strengthen cooperation for common interests.

During the interview with foreign reporters, Ambassador Tran Quoc Khanh also provided information on the cooperation situation between the two countries in the fields of politics and economics; and shared some orientations to promote bilateral trade, culture and tourism.

In addition, the Ambassador also answered questions from foreign press regarding challenges in trade, investment and cultural exchange, especially in the context of Vietnam and Algeria not having direct flights, and proposed a number of solutions to overcome difficulties.

The Ambassador emphasized that Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's visit to Algeria is of historical significance, being the highest-level visit by a Vietnamese leader to Algeria in the past 10 years, since Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung's visit in 2015.

The Ambassador expressed his hope that the visit will open up many new cooperation agreements, contributing to perfecting the legal framework and creating favorable conditions for the business communities as well as people of the two countries to increase exchanges and cooperation in the fields of trade, culture and education./.
