With extraordinary profits in the third quarter, Masan Group expects to exceed its profit plan by 30% for the whole year.

(Dan Tri) - Masan Group's profit and revenue growth was driven by the efficiency of its member companies WinCommerce, Masan MEATLife and Phuc Long, along with better profit contributions from Techcombank as well as divestment from HC Starck (HCS).

Completed more than 90% of the yearly plan in just 9 months

Masan Group Corporation (MSN) has just announced its unaudited consolidated financial statements for the third quarter and the first nine months of 2025 with many positive results.

Accordingly, MSN's net revenue in the third quarter reached VND21,164 billion, up 9.7% over the same period last year, while profit after tax reached VND1,866 billion, 1.4 times higher than the third quarter of 2024.

Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year, the group's consolidated revenue reached VND58,376 billion, up 8% over the same period, and after-tax profit reached VND4,468 billion, up 64%, equivalent to completing more than 90% of the year's profit plan.

Most member companies recorded strong growth. Typically, WinCommerce, with third quarter revenue reaching 10,544 billion VND, up 22.6% over the same period, after-tax profit reaching 175 billion VND, up more than 8.7 times, bringing the profit margin to 1.7%.

In the first 9 months, WinCommerce (WCM) achieved revenue of VND 28,459 billion, up 16.6%, and profit after tax of VND 243 billion, up VND 447 billion compared to the same period last year. This result reflects a clear improvement in operational efficiency thanks to the expansion of the supermarket and convenience store system.

Masan MEATLife (MML) also had an impressive third quarter with growth momentum coming from the expansion of its chilled meat store chain and the consolidation of its modern distribution channel. Quarterly revenue reached VND2,384 billion, up 23.2%, profit after tax was VND101 billion, up more than 5.2 times over the same period. Accumulated for the first 9 months, revenue reached VND6,794 billion, up 24.7%, profit after tax was VND466 billion, up by VND526 billion.

Phuc Long Heritage (PLH) continued its growth momentum in the tea and coffee segment. Third quarter revenue reached VND516 billion, up 21.2%, with a net profit margin of 10.8%, 2.1 times higher than the same period last year.

Accumulated in 9 months, PLH's revenue reached 1,373 billion VND, up 14.1%, profit after tax was 141 billion VND, up 80.1%. This positive result was driven by the effectiveness of the brand repositioning campaign, good growth in the food segment and a breakthrough from the delivery channel.

Masan High-Tech Materials (MSR) recorded third-quarter revenue of VND2,041 billion, up 33.4%, and after-tax profit of VND5 billion. Accumulated revenue for the first 9 months reached VND5,048 billion, up 25.1% compared to 2024, thanks to the recovery in global tungsten demand. In addition, Masan's profit from Techcombank in the third quarter reached VND1,242 billion, up 9.4% over the same period.

Full-year profit expected to reach 130% of plan, MCH grows again

Regarding the 2025 plan, Masan Group targets consolidated net revenue from VND80,000 billion to VND85,500 billion, corresponding to growth of 7% to 14%. Excluding Masan High-Tech Materials, consolidated revenue is expected to be from VND74,013 billion to VND78,013 billion, up 8% to 13%.

According to Ms. Doan Thi My Duyen - MSN's CFO - the group can achieve a full-year profit equivalent to 130% of the plan. In absolute numbers, MSN's report expects pre-distribution after-tax profit to reach VND4,875-6,500 billion, a sharp increase compared to VND4,272 billion in 2024.

As for MCH, MSN General Director Danny Le is confident that MCH will grow again in the fourth quarter and prepare for a boom in 2026.

"The reason we restructured the distribution system is because MCH's strength lies in innovation. The restructuring allows direct coverage of the company's innovative products, so that when we launch new products next year, we can distribute them to customers.

Data shows that Masan's brands can reach customers better when converting to a new distribution system," said Mr. Huynh Viet Thang - MCH's Chief Financial Officer.

Since the beginning of the year, the WCM system has opened about 464 new stores, so business leaders are confident with the plan to open 700 stores this year and about 1,000-1,500 stores in 2026.

The group also plans to expand its system in the South and assesses that the development of competitors in the North and Central regions "does not affect WCM's operations due to differences in positioning and customer approach strategies".

Meanwhile, MSN assessed that more than 4,300 WCM points of sale and 400,000 GT points of sale with close relationships play an important role in the success of this enterprise's digitalization process.

“With WCM, technology is not far away but close. The WCM point of sale system and traditional points of sale have a relationship that helps Masan's data have 3 important questions: where to sell, what to sell and how much to sell through analyzing whether that area still needs to open a store or not, what are the purchasing characteristics of people in that area, and automating the ordering process to meet the maximum amount of goods needed for each store.

It is expected that by December 2026, 90% of goods will be processed through technology, helping to reduce 15% of work at the store and 300 billion VND in costs per year," Mr. Phan Nguyen Trong Huy - WCM's Financial Director - shared.

Regarding the plan to transfer MCH shares to another floor, Mr. Michael Hung Nguyen, Deputy General Director of MSN, said that MCH has almost completed the documents and is ready, and consultants are also helping the company in the process of preparing for the IPO.

“If the business results in the fourth quarter of 2025 and the first quarter of 2026 are good, the listing will be better. In addition, we also need to watch the market, because there are positive signals. MCH's capitalization when listed can be in the VN30 group, and we will officially announce the exact time later,” Mr. Michael Hung Nguyen informed.

According to Dr. Nguyen Dang Quang, Chairman of MSN, the third quarter results mark an important milestone for Masan in its journey to comprehensively modernize the Vietnamese consumer and retail industry in a sustainable and profitable manner.

“We expect to create strong synergies by building a unified membership program, connecting WinCommerce's modern retail channel with Masan Consumer's direct distribution model, thereby expanding access and serving traditional points of sale more effectively nationwide.
