Interest rates as of December 16th: Three more banks significantly increase rates, surpassing 6% per year.

As of December 16th, 21 banks have increased deposit interest rates. LPBank, ABBank, and BaoViet Bank are the latest additions, with LPBank showing the sharpest increase across all maturities.

The deposit interest rate market continued to be active on December 16, 2025, as three more joint-stock commercial banks, LPBank , ABBank, and BaoViet Bank, announced interest rate increases. This move brings the total number of banks raising interest rates since the beginning of December to 21, indicating a widespread upward trend.

LPBank saw the sharpest increase, with many maturities exceeding 6% per year.

In this adjustment, Loc Phat Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank) saw the largest increase, applicable to all terms from 1 to 60 months. Specifically, LPBank's new online deposit interest rate schedule is as follows:

• For terms of 1-2 months: Increased by 0.6%/year, to 4.5%/year and 4.6%/year respectively.
• For terms of 3-5 months: Increased by 0.55%/year, reaching the ceiling of 4.75%/year.
• For terms of 6-11 months: Increased by 0.5%/year, listed at 6.1%/year.
• For terms of 13-60 months: The interest rate increased by 0.55% per year, reaching 6.2% per year, which is also the highest interest rate at LPBank.

ABBank and BaoViet Bank also adjusted their prices upwards.

An Binh Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ABBank) focused its adjustments only on longer maturities. Online and over-the-counter deposit interest rates for 36, 48, and 60-month terms all increased sharply by 0.8% per year, bringing the online rate to 6.1% per year and the over-the-counter rate to 6.0% per year. Interest rates for terms from 1 to 24 months remained unchanged, placing ABBank among private banks with the lowest short-term interest rates.

Meanwhile, BaoViet Bank uniformly increased interest rates by 0.2% per year for terms ranging from 6 to 36 months. After the adjustment, the online interest rate for a 6-month term is 5.85% per year, the 12-month term reaches 6.0% per year, and terms from 13 to 36 months are listed at 6.1% per year. Interest rates for terms from 1 to 5 months remain unchanged.
