Transform into a 'boss' to welcome the new year
“Somewhere in the mountains, as the sun sets and the shadows lengthen, clans gather to pay homage to the man destined to leave his mark on history.”
The above passage could belong to a classic gangster movie, but it doesn't.

This is how Lamine Yamal began the video shared on Instagram about his controversial 18th birthday party last Sunday (July 13), which El Pais mentioned in its article about him.
In that footage, of course, there were no images of any dwarf actors – a detail that later caused a stir in public opinion, even leading to complaints and investigations.
But what was clear was that all the guests were dressed as if they were attending a meeting of mafia 'bosses'.
This – and inevitably controversial – trend of idolizing and copying gangster imagery is known online as mob style or mob aesthetic.
With the voiceover at the beginning of the video, one might think the theme of the party is gangster, but the images that follow are not quite like that: shiny necklaces, poker tables, cakes and diamonds everywhere.

Lamine Yamal wore a white outfit of loafers, flared trousers and a blazer; a diamond-encrusted ring, bracelet and watch, along with a necklace with Barcelona's initials and colours given to him by rapper El Alfa, which is said to be worth 400,000 euros.
All finished with a diamond-encrusted baton, also engraved with the Lamine Yamal name.
This is the style that Yamal later calls “Elegant” in subsequent posts. He is not alone.
Want to assert yourself
The birthday party of Barcelona 's number 1 star shows his desire to assert himself at a new age, with his own style and surrounded by everyone.

In the video, he presents his coming-of-age ceremony as almost a satirical initiation rite, and the guests are introduced as “families”: on one side are footballers like Robert Lewandowski or Gavi, on the other side are music stars like Duki, Quevedo, Bad Gyal or Bizarrap.
On social media, all this – coupled with other controversies surrounding the party – left many unhappy and trying to call him out.
One of the most scathing is TVboy, an Italian graffiti artist known for his socially themed murals.
TVboy recently dedicated a mural in Barcelona depicting Lamine dressed as Superman (which was vandalized almost immediately).
“Dear Lamine. Greatness always comes with humility. Stay humble,” TVboy wrote on his personal page.
