Da Nang hosts the International Mathematics Competition for the first time

GD&TĐ - Da Nang City hosts the VIMC International Mathematics Competition for students from more than 40 countries and territories around the world.

On August 4, the Communications Subcommittee and the Technical, Opening and Closing Subcommittee of the 25th VIMC International Mathematics Competition in Da Nang City (VIMC 2025) held a meeting to review preparations for the competition which will open on August 15.

According to the Organizing Committee, the International Mathematics Competition (IMC) is an annual competition held in rotation in member countries for excellent mathematics students from more than 40 countries and territories around the world . This is one of the prestigious International Mathematics Competitions for secondary school students.

At the same time, it is also a useful international playground, creating opportunities for mathematical talents from many countries to develop their capacity, establish an academic environment, promote creativity, and develop research. This is the first time Da Nang City has hosted the exam. Therefore, all the organization work is carefully prepared, leaving a good impression.

In the past time, closely following the direction of the City People's Committee leaders and the plan to organize the Exam, the Communications Subcommittee has developed a plan to assign specific tasks to members and actively coordinated with related units to ensure extensive and effective communication work.

Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City delivered a closing speech at the meeting.

At the meeting, members discussed the draft of the overall program, detailed scripts for the opening and closing ceremonies; art and exchange programs; propaganda work; introduction of tourism products, OCOP products bearing the cultural imprint of the city; thoughtful reception of delegates and delegations of contestants...

At the end of the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thu Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City, Head of the Communications Subcommittee and Associate Professor Dr. Huynh Cong Phap, President of Vietnam - Korea University of Information Technology and Communications (VKU), Da Nang University, Head of the Technical, Opening and Closing Subcommittee requested members to closely follow the assigned tasks to implement the work to ensure quality and progress according to plan.

At the same time, coordinate smoothly with relevant subcommittees so that VIMC 2025 in Da Nang City takes place successfully.

The International Mathematics Competition (IMC) takes place from August 14 to August 19 in Da Nang City.

The leading unit is the People's Committee of Da Nang City. The implementing units are the Department of Education and Training of Da Nang City, Vietnam - Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) - Da Nang University and IEG Global Joint Stock Company.

Coordinating units are the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Department of Finance, Department of Foreign Affairs, City Police, City Food Safety Management Board and related agencies and units.
