This spring crop, for the first time, the Thai Nguyen City Agricultural Service Center has implemented a mechanized organic rice production model on a scale of 24 hectares in 3 communes, including Dong Lien (18 hectares), Linh Son (3 hectares) and Tan Cuong (3 hectares). The purebred rice varieties used for cultivation are HD11 and HDT11.

Farmers in Dong Lien commune (Thai Nguyen city) use transplanters in organic rice production model.

There are 219 households participating in the model. Households are supported 70% of the price of seeds, biological organic fertilizers, and microbial organic fertilizers; and are trained in science and technology in sowing and caring for rice in an organic direction (such as sparse planting, planting young seedlings; using biological organic fertilizers and microbial organic fertilizers, herbal biological pesticides, etc.) for the rice plants to grow and develop well.

In particular, people bring machines (including plows, transplanters, and drones to spray pesticides) into the production process to ensure technical standards, increase rice productivity, and reduce labor.

Currently, the Thai Nguyen City Agricultural Service Center is coordinating with communes to guide farmers in planting rice according to technical standards and crop schedule. It is expected to complete the rice planting according to the model in February.
