Vietnam hosts International Music and Arts Festival for the first time

On the afternoon of October 30, the Vietnam Cultural Industry Development Association (VCIDA) in collaboration with the Vietnam Institute of Art Education (VIA Education) and Soul Institute of Arts (SIA) announced the organization of the Vietnam International Music and Arts Festival - VIMAF 2025.

This is the first time Vietnam has hosted an international art festival on a Southeast Asian scale, aiming to create a professional playground for young artists in the country and the region, spreading the message "When art connects, the world lights up".

VIMAF 2025 will take place from December 12 to 13 in Ho Chi Minh City. Contestants can register from October 30 to November 30, competing in two categories: Music (vocal, piano, guitar, drums, violin) and Dance (hip hop, ballet, contemporary dance, jazz, lyrical, modern dance). Each contestant or group can perform one act, with no genre restrictions.

The 15 best performances will be selected to perform at the VIMAF 2025 Gala Night, held on the evening of December 13 at Capital Theatre (212 Ly Chinh Thang, Nhieu Loc Ward, HCMC).

The jury includes many leading domestic and international artists and experts such as pianist Adam Gyorgy, music expert Nicholas Keyworth, musician Thanh Bui, Meritorious Artist Pham Khanh Ngoc, violinist Le Minh Hien, producer Nguyen Huu Phu (Kurrock)...

In the field of choreography, there is choreographer Alexander Tu (Vietnamese-American), Sabra Elise Johnson - Champion of "So You Think You Can Dance" USA season 3, artist Do Hai Anh - Champion of "Let's Dance" Vietnam season 4...

Vocal Master Bui Trieu Yen pledged that the art council will work impartially, professionally, and respect true artistic values.

VIMAF is not only an art festival but also a launching pad - where young artistic talents are connected, inspired, and given the opportunity to turn their passion into a career.

The award structure of VIMAF 2025 includes: 2 Championship Awards - honoring the pinnacle of art and stage influence, Gold Award - recognizing outstanding technique and exquisite creativity, Silver Award - honoring performance quality and strong emotions, Bronze Award for promising talents.

In addition to the main competition, VIMAF 2025 also organizes a series of sideline activities such as workshops with international artists, contemporary cultural and art exchanges, and cultural discovery tours in Ho Chi Minh City.

Present at the announcement event, Dancesport champion Khanh Thy shared: “VIMAF is a meaningful launching pad for young artists”. She also said that she will register her two children, Nguyen Minh Cuong (born 2015) and Anna Vuong Diem (born 2018) to participate in the dance and music categories, respectively.
