On March 18, in Phu Quoc City, Kien Giang Province, Naval Region 5 held the opening ceremony of a training course on 5 dances in collective activities for soldiers in 2024.

The 5 dances being trained are new dances, directed by the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army to organize research and dissemination throughout the army to preserve and promote the value of Vietnamese revolutionary art and national cultural identity; create a useful, healthy, joyful and exciting playground, attracting officers and soldiers to participate, contributing to improving the spiritual and physical cultural life of soldiers.
In which: "Dance of Faith" with strong movements, expressing faith, will and unity, suitable for collective activities such as military training, traditional day performances and other political activities. "Dance of the army and people" is composed on the material of Thai xoe, the sinus rhythm of the Central Highlands people and the coconut shell dance of the Khmer people. This dance shows the solidarity of ethnic groups, solidarity of the army and people, has high connectivity, suitable for exchange activities, campfires. "Dance of the march" has youthful, strong movements, suitable for collective activities of soldiers and exchange activities. "Dance of the young soldiers" is staged with vibrant movements of the Army youth. "Dance of peace" is applied in the ending of collective activities, political events...
Each dance has main movements that follow a defined theme. During use, soldiers flexibly apply them to suit the nature of the activity.

Group dancing is a form of activity in the army, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of soldiers. 5 dances with 5 different themes have their own characteristics to apply in group dancing activities, exchanges inside and outside the army.
According to Colonel Le Van Huong, Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 5: Folk dance activities are increasingly used in exchanges and collective activities of Vietnamese people. This activity has not only become a trend but also has a very practical and useful social meaning, contributing to preserving and promoting national cultural identity, connecting the community, demonstrating the development in the cultural and spiritual life of the people and the whole society.

In order to promptly disseminate dances to soldiers, create a spread and richness in cultural and artistic activities, Naval Region 5 organized a program to instruct dances in collective activities for comrades who are the cultural and artistic core of agencies and units in the Region. The Deputy Political Commissar of Naval Region 5 requested the trainees to uphold their sense of responsibility, grasp the content conveyed by the teachers, apply it flexibly and creatively, in accordance with the collective nature, military characteristics and actual situation of the unit; create a new, strong and unified development step in collective dance and singing activities, meeting the needs of enjoying cultural and spiritual life of officers and soldiers.
