According to the report at the working session, the 175th Brigade Infirmary was newly built on an area of 220m², including 2 floors with 16 functional rooms. In the first 6 months of 2025, the Infirmary has performed well in medical examination and treatment for officers, soldiers and people in the area. The rate of healthy soldiers reached 98.82%; the rate of hospital bed utilization reached 30%; the rate of discharge from hospital was 85%; 165 cases were examined and given medicine, 1 case was treated for emergency, and 25 cases were transferred to other hospitals.
However, due to the military base being located in an area with many rivers, canals, and streams, and difficult transportation, the medical facilities and equipment of the Infirmary are still lacking and not yet synchronized. Some essential equipment such as electrocardiogram machines, ultrasound, digital X-ray, endoscopy, testing equipment, medical examination and treatment management software... are not fully equipped or have degraded, affecting the quality of diagnosis and treatment.
Through the actual survey, the Ministry of Health requested the 175th Brigade Infirmary to coordinate with relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive assessment of the health care needs of officers, soldiers and people in the area. On that basis, a report will be prepared for the competent authority to consider, as a basis for the Ministry of Health to research and support appropriate medical equipment in the coming time.
In a proactive spirit, Brigade 175 initially proposed that the Ministry of Health consider supporting some necessary machinery, equipment, and medical supplies to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment at the Infirmary. At the same time, it proposed to coordinate the organization of training and professional development courses to update new knowledge for the unit's medical staff.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Do Xuan Tuyen acknowledged the spirit of overcoming difficulties and being proactive of the medical staff of Brigade 175, and affirmed that the Ministry of Health will continue to accompany and closely coordinate with the Navy in the work of combining military and civilian medicine. Thereby, gradually improving professional capacity, contributing to better and better health care for soldiers and people in the border and island areas in the South of the Fatherland.
