Beating Hai Phong, Hanoi Police won the Bronze Medal of V.League 2024-2025

On the afternoon of June 22, the final round of V.League 2024-2025 took place with the focus being on the competition for the Bronze Medal of the season.

Contrary to the two top positions that were determined from the previous round with the championship belonging to Nam Dinh Green Steel and the runner-up being Hanoi FC, the competition for the bronze medal was very intense between Hanoi Police (CAHN) and The Cong - Viettel .

In the final match of the season, CAHN hosted Hai Phong at Hang Day Stadium. Against an opponent weaker in every aspect, Coach Polking's team only needed 9 minutes to score the opening goal.

In the 9th minute, taking advantage of goalkeeper Dinh Trieu's block from his teammate's shot, Hugo Gomes successfully kicked the ball back to put CAHN ahead 1-0. After conceding the goal, Hai Phong was forced to attack in search of an equalizer. Under pressure from the away team, CAHN tried to slow down the pace of the match to make it difficult for Hai Phong to attack.

In the 32nd minute, taking advantage of a mistake by Hai Phong's defense, Giap Tuan Duong quickly scored to increase the score to 2-0. The referee immediately consulted VAR and decided to recognize the goal. During the remaining time of the match, Hai Phong tried to maintain pressure but could not find a chance to shorten the score.

In the second half, the scenario did not change much as Hai Phong actively pushed up their efforts to find a goal. However, CAHN's defense played very solidly, so the goal still did not come to the away team.

On the other hand, CAHN players also had dangerous attacks on goalkeeper Dinh Trieu's goal but unfortunately failed. The second half of the match witnessed many missed opportunities from both sides.

After 45 minutes of goalless play, the two teams ended with a score of 2-0 in favor of CAHN. With this result, CAHN won 3rd place on the rankings, equivalent to a bronze medal.

In the remaining matches, Hoang Anh Gia Lai drew 3-3 with Quang Nam, Binh Duong won 1-0 against Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh Blue Steel won 1-0 against Hong Linh Ha Tinh, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh lost 2-4 to Hanoi FC, The Cong - Viettel won 2-0 against Ho Chi Minh City, SHB Da Nang won 2-1 against Song Lam Nghe An.

At the end of the 2024-2025 season, Nam Dinh Green Steel won first place, successfully defending the throne; Hanoi FC finished second, winning the silver medal; CAHN finished third, winning the bronze medal.

Meanwhile, Quy Nhon Binh Dinh will be relegated to the First Division, while SHB Da Nang will play in a play-off match for the right to play in the V.League next season.
