The 7th Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2025 attracted the participation of over 56,000 students from 195 schools in the province, of which 610 entries were selected to participate at the provincial level. After the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 170 entries to be judged in the provincial preliminary round. The Departments of Education and Training actively implemented the contest at the grassroots level, submitted entries on time and had many high-quality entries, typically: the Department of Education and Training of Phu Ly city, the Department of Education and Training of Duy Tien town and primary schools: Tran Quoc Toan, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (Phu Ly city)...
Sharing about this year's contest, Mr. Nguyen Van Trong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said: Reading the students' comments, we are really happy because today's young generation is not indifferent to reading culture, still passionate about reading, absorbing and moved by good books with higheducational value. Reading culture has not been forgotten, we just need to know how to light and keep the flame of reading passion burning forever. Hopefully, the students will, with their plans and enthusiasm, continue to ignite and spread the passion for reading to the surrounding community.
The entries selected for the 2025 provincial preliminary round all demonstrated excellence in ideas, book selection, content, writing techniques and creativity. The students demonstrated a true passion for books, pouring their hearts into each page and devoting all their heart to the contest. Many entries were elaborately presented, beautifully written, with beautiful handwriting, on topic, and a clear, innocent writing style according to the students' perceptions. With the recognition and encouragement of the reading movement, 2025 is truly a year of "explosion" in awards. In addition to the annual collective awards, the Organizing Committee selected 161 students to receive individual awards, including 6 Outstanding Reading Culture Ambassador awards, 12 First prizes, 36 Second prizes, 50 Third prizes and 57 Encouragement prizes.
The 2025 contest has concluded after 7 consecutive years of organization and has brought many notable results. With more than 600,000 entries and nearly 700 individuals and groups being awarded, it shows the great influence of the contest, contributing significantly to the development of reading culture in the community. The Reading Culture Ambassador Contest has received enthusiastic responses from a large number of students across the province every year; each year there is an increase in both quantity and quality. Many entries have won prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels. And the most meaningful thing is that the students have surpassed themselves, trained themselves in reading habits, the joy of reading and very clear reading purposes. Not just stopping at a contest, this is a place to give wings to souls moved by the beauty of the pages of life's books.
Thach Bao Minh is a quite impressive student of the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in recent years. It is known that Thach Bao Minh started participating in this contest since he was in grade 9 at Dong Van Secondary School, Duy Tien town. At the 2023 contest, he won first prize when sharing the book "The Alchemist" by the famous Brazilian novelist Paulo Coelho. The main character in the story is Santiago. Santiago's parents wanted him to become a priest to bring pride to the family. But because of his childhood dream of traveling around the world , Santiago convinced his father and became a shepherd. He traveled everywhere, enjoyed an adventurous life, met the love of his life and became rich. Thach Bao Minh confided: From the first moment I read the book, I realized the light of truth in my life through each page of the book, each metaphorical lesson. The book gives me an insight into what happens in life, fueling my confidence to overcome challenges and achieve success.
Or the article that was selected to receive the award for the best sharing topic of Nguyen Ngoc Ha when participating in the Reading Culture Ambassador Contest in 2021. At that time, Ngoc Ha was a student at Nguyen Huu Tien Secondary School, Duy Tien town. The work Nguyen Ngoc Ha chose to share her feelings was called "The most beautiful farewell in the world" by Korean writer - Noh Hee Kyung. Through her sharing, "The most beautiful farewell in the world" is a story about a hard-working mother. During a health check-up, she discovered that she had cancer. At first, she did not dare to believe that she had cancer because if that happened, her dreams of building a new house and arranging for her youngest son's university education would be unfinished. Her life was busy, not even allowing time for pessimism. She was a kind housewife, she spent her youth taking care of her family. Her illness also made her family members realize that they had been too heartless and indifferent to her over the years. Ngoc Ha wrote: “There are pains that cannot be expressed, hardships that cannot be expressed, stories that cannot be shared, but let love fill them. Surely one day your parents will become your “regret”, so please… from now on, do not allow yourself to become your parents’ “anger”!... Read books to learn how to be more forgiving and loving”.
Commenting on the 7-year journey of organizing the Ha Nam Province Reading Culture Ambassador Contest, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Trong said: The contest is one of the activities to inspire and spread the love of books to all Ha Nam youth and children, thereby promoting the strong development of reading culture in the community. This is not only an important factor in building a community reading culture, promoting the process of learning, research, and knowledge discovery, but also beautifying people's souls. Building the habit of reading books, spreading the reading movement through contests is a practical contribution to improving the quality of learning, cultural lifestyle, strengthening love for the homeland, and at the same time contributing to perfecting human personality, inspiring the desire to contribute to the young generation - the future owners of the country.
