The Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025 takes place from November 7 to 9 at Hanoi Museum, Pham Hung Street, Tu Liem Ward, Hanoi and Hoan Kiem Lake area (ao dai-traditional costume parade) is an opportunity for Hanoi to promote and spread the beauty of Vietnamese ao dai.

This is an annual activity of the City to promote tourism in the Capital associated with honoring, preserving and spreading unique intangible cultural values ​​- Vietnamese Ao Dai.

Through a series of diverse activities, the Festival contributes to nurturing the love for Ao Dai, raising awareness among the community - especially the youth - about preserving and promoting national cultural identity; at the same time affirming the image of Hanoi - a "safe, friendly, quality and attractive" tourist destination.

During the three days of the event, the Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival 2025 will bring to the people and tourists a colorful cultural space - a place to honor the beauty of Ao Dai through performances, exhibitions, exchanges and creative experiences.

At the Hanoi Museum, the Festival opens a vibrant cultural space, where traditional values ​​are recreated and sublimated in contemporary life. More than 80 elaborately decorated booths, bringing together designers, ao dai brands, weaving, sewing, embroidery, silk craft villages and typical artisans of Hanoi and many localities across the country. This is not only a place for exhibition, but also a journey to discover heritage - where every meter of fabric, every needle and thread tells the story of Vietnamese hands, soul and identity.

Visitors to the Festival can admire the photo exhibition “Hanoi - Heritage Ao Dai”, looking back at the journey of the Ao Dai through the perspective of art - fashion - culture. Visitors can also rent ready-made Ao Dai designed in many styles. These Ao Dai become a bridge between the present and memories, taking the wearer on a journey of experience - taking photos - preserving moments in the context of recreating Khue Van Cac, along with familiar corners of Hanoi's old streets.

Not only stopping at admiring, the Festival also invites the public to "live in the heritage" through a series of creative experience workshops held continuously for three days: trying to embroider folk motifs, drawing decorative patterns on ao dai, making accessories, jewelry (such as straw bags, clogs, bracelets, etc.), making bamboo dragonflies, etc. Each activity is not only a craft experience, but also a subtle dialogue between today's people and the heritage left by their ancestors.

In parallel, traditional art performances are held throughout the Festival, to honor the value of intangible heritage and introduce to the public unique art forms of the nation such as ca tru, cheo, quan ho, xam,...

Through this series of activities, the Festival not only contributes to preserving and promoting traditional arts, but also creates a space for exchange between artisans and the public, helping audiences - especially young people - better understand the spiritual beauty and depth of Vietnamese culture.

The folk game area is designed as a community connection space, giving participants the opportunity to experience traditional games such as o an quan, dancing, tug of war...

These activities help evoke cultural memories, connect generations, and spread the spirit of preserving heritage in contemporary life, while creating a highlight for cultural exchange - experience - education for all ages.

The festival officially opened with the Opening Night “Hanoi Ao Dai - Shining the Essence of Heritage” taking place on the evening of November 7 at the main stage of the Hanoi Museum. The program gathered famous artisans, designers, models and artists, bringing elaborately staged performances, where the Ao Dai appeared as a symbol of the harmony between tradition and modernity, connecting Hanoi with all regions of the country.

In addition to the exhibition and experience space, the Hanoi Ao Dai Tourism Festival 2025 brings a series of highlight programs where the public can directly participate, admire and spread love for Vietnamese Ao Dai, including the children's Ao Dai performance "I love Hanoi", the final round of the design contest "Ao Dai - Connecting Heritage", where young talents present unique and creative designs based on traditional values.

There is also a parade of Ao Dai around Hoan Kiem Lake (afternoon of November 8), including the reenactment of the Ao Dai Village Ancestor Procession, the Bach Hoa Walking Program and the Ao Dai Reform of Hoan Kiem Ward women, and the Hanoi City Heritage Ao Dai Club, gathering more than 1,000 people in Ao Dai and ancient costumes, creating a brilliant scene in the center of the capital.

Besides, there is the "Touching Autumn in Hanoi" experience tour by double-decker bus - where visitors wear ao dai and stroll through famous landmarks and capture the autumn moments of Hanoi in pictures.

The Ao Dai performance program "Women of the Capital Integrate and Develop", in collaboration with the Hanoi Women's Union: 350 women of the Capital put on the brilliant Ao Dai, blending in with the melody "Hanoi, Faith and Hope" and "Ao Dai Dance" - creating a vivid picture honoring the beauty, bravery and integration spirit of Vietnamese women.

The entire space of the 2025 Hanoi Tourism Ao Dai Festival is decorated with flags, lights, welcome gates and artistic miniatures inspired by the autumn colors of Hanoi. The space is both solemn and intimate, a subtle combination of contemporary installation art and traditional cultural symbols, creating a whole with aesthetic depth and the unique identity of the Capital.

Through the program, Hanoi City affirms its orientation to build tourism products associated with culture, making Ao Dai a symbol of Hanoi tourism identity, while promoting the participation of the community, artisans and businesses in the work of preserving and promoting Vietnamese cultural values ​​in the new era.
