The recent floods have caused damage in many communes and wards in the province. Floods swept away many houses, textbooks, school supplies, and students' clothes. Many schools had collapsed fences, classrooms had their roofs blown off, and learning and teaching materials were damaged.

Schools in flood-affected areas promptly grasped the situation of affected students and proactively launched donations to share difficulties and provide timely support to help them return to school soon.

Schools in the province in areas not affected by the flood have launched a fundraising campaign to support people in flooded areas, especially students who no longer have books, clothes, or school supplies.

Nguyen Bao Dat, class 5A, Ngo Gia Tu Primary School (Thanh Nhat Ward) broke his piggy bank and donated the coins he had saved over the years to support his friends in the flood-affected areas. Dat shared: “Every time I do housework or get good grades, my mother rewards me with 1,000 - 5,000 VND to put in the piggy bank. I have been raising a piggy bank for a few years now with the intention of saving to buy new clothes and toys that I like. Through my mother's stories and information from teachers at school, I learned that many friends had their books and clothes swept away by the flood and their houses collapsed. Therefore, I asked my mother to break the piggy bank (for 910,000 VND) to share with my friends. I hope my friends will soon receive support and be able to go to school like us.”

In addition to cash, students also brought school supplies, books, notebooks, and clothes to donate to their friends. The packaging was also full of love as the items were neatly arranged and wrapped in tight-fitting plastic bags to avoid water seepage during transportation.

The exemplary role of staff and teachers, along with the active support of parents, has created a unified and humane educational environment, thereby creating a great influence on students; turning moral lessons in books into practical actions”.
