My village saves electricity

If our village does a good job of saving electricity, the commune will also give us a certificate of merit and a small gift.

Early in the morning, Mrs. Thuc was sitting on the porch picking vegetables when Mr. Tu, the village chief, leisurely walked in, holding a piece of paper in his hand.

Mr. Tu saw Mrs. Thuc and said:

- I just came back from a meeting at the commune. This year our commune launched a campaign to save electricity in the villages. Has your family registered yet?

Mrs. Thuc looked up and saw Mr. Tu speaking and asked quickly:

- Oh, I haven't heard anyone say anything. So what does saving electricity mean? And the whole village participates?

Hearing Mrs. Thuc's question, Mr. Tu immediately replied:

- It's simple, ma'am. Take advantage of the sunlight during the day, turn off the lights when not needed. Unplug the TV, fan, rice cooker... after use. The whole village can do it together, it saves money and protects the power grid.

At that time, Phong, Mrs. Thuc's nephew, had just come home from school. Hearing this, he immediately said:

- Today, my teacher also talked about saving electricity. In class, we also had a competition to draw propaganda pictures. She said if the whole commune saves electricity, it will help reduce electricity overload in the summer, and reduce rotating power outages or unexpected power outages.

Hearing her grandson speak, Mrs. Thuc looked up at the ceiling and said:

- Oh yeah, the kitchen light was still on during the day, she forgot to turn it off.

Mr. Tu smiled:

- Many households in my village are the same, often not paying attention to saving electricity through small actions. I heard that this year there is also a power shortage, especially this summer. That's why the commune launched a movement. If each household can reduce by just 5%, the whole village will save a lot of money.

Listening to Mr. Tu, Phong suggested:

- Why don't we make a reminder board? Write "Remember to turn off the lights when you go out" and stick it on the door. I heard that the village youth union is also discussing using solar panels to power the streets. Doing so will also save public electricity.

Mrs. Thuc saw that her grandson had a good idea so she agreed and said:

- Yes, I will draw one for you tomorrow.

Mr. Tu also agreed:

- Good! I'll go and persuade other households. If our village saves a lot of electricity, the commune will give us a certificate of merit and a small gift.
