Ben Tre Provincial leaders work with the Director of the Vietnam

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam expressed hope that many cooperation opportunities will be opened with Singaporean enterprises.

Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat attended the meeting. Receiving and working with the delegation of Ben Tre province was Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hang - CEO of Sao Viet Consulting and Training Joint Stock Company (VIETSTAR), Director of Vietnam - Singapore Senior Management Forum (VSBF).

Attending the meeting, on behalf of Ben Tre provincial leaders, there were: Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran Thanh Lam; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Le Van Khe; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Minh Canh; representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches.

At the meeting, Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hang - Director of VSBF briefly introduced the Vietnam - Singapore Senior Management Forum (VSBF). VSBF is a pioneering forum in the region for leaders of Vietnam, Singapore and around the world to share experiences and initiatives on energy transition, sustainable growth, ... together creating value and promoting cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore.

Sharing at the meeting, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment of Ben Tre province, Duong Van Phuc, briefly introduced the geographical location, natural conditions, and potential investment opportunities in Ben Tre province. Currently, Ben Tre province has over 65 FDI projects, with a total registered capital of over 1,641 million USD; over 260 domestic projects with a total capital of nearly 60,000 billion VND. Of which, Singapore is the country with the highest proportion of FDI capital invested in Ben Tre, accounting for over 50%.

Ben Tre's technical infrastructure is being increasingly invested in and is currently able to meet the needs of investors. In addition to 65km of coastline, Ben Tre has 4 large rivers flowing through it, a dense river system. Convenient for waterways and roads.

Ben Tre has a river port that can handle up to 5,000 DWT. Currently, the Government is implementing a project to build a coastal traffic route connecting the southern provinces. In the future, Ben Tre will become a dynamic economic center of the region.

Providing more information at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam said: In the Planning of Ben Tre province for the period of 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister, priority is given to strong development towards the East with the highlight being the sea encroachment area with an area of about 50,000 hectares to expand development space and strongly develop the marine economy with breakthroughs in industry; renewable energy, clean energy; high-tech aquaculture, exploitation and processing of seafood; maritime economy (maritime transport, logistics); services, tourism and green urban areas... The planning of the province is also an opportunity for investors and businesses to come and learn, research and decide to choose to invest and develop in Ben Tre.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Ngoc Tam expressed his hope that Ms. Pham Thi Thu Hang - Director of VSBF, will become an important bridge to help connect Ben Tre province with Singaporean enterprises, opening up strong cooperation and investment opportunities.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee pledged that the province will create all favorable conditions for investors to survey, learn about investment opportunities and exploit the province's potential. The Ben Tre provincial government is ready to support in providing information, creating a favorable investment environment, as well as coordinating with businesses throughout the investment process and project implementation.
