Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Hai Trung acknowledged and highly appreciated the Archdiocese of Hue in recent times for implementing the instructions of Pope Francis, which are to dialogue and actively cooperate with authorities at all levels, accompany the nation, assist, care for and share with people in difficulty in life; pay attention to environmental protection, climate change, actively participate in medical, educational, and humanitarian charity activities. Hue Diocese was established in 1850, after nearly 200 years of formation and development under the leadership of previous Archbishops and Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh and current Archbishop Dang Duc Ngan, Hue Archdiocese has made strong progress in organization, activities and religious facilities.

Over the past time, the departments, branches, and central government at all levels and Hue City, Quang Tri Province have consistently implemented the policy of respecting and ensuring the freedom of belief and religion of the people; at the same time, creating favorable conditions for the activities of the Catholic Archdiocese of Hue. Major activities of the Catholic Archdiocese of Hue have all taken place successfully, ensuring safety, security and order, demonstrating the good relationship between the authorities at all levels and the Hue Diocese over the past many years.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Hai Trung also acknowledged and highly appreciated Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh in his role as Archbishop of Hue Archdiocese from 2016 to present; especially in his position as President of the Vietnam Bishops' Council (2016 - 2022), he has played a great role in promoting good relations between Catholicism and authorities at all levels, making an important contribution to promoting the relationship between the State of Vietnam and the Vatican in an increasingly good direction.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Hai Trung congratulated the Archdiocese of Hue on completing the construction of a large and spacious pastoral center; the project is historic and serves the common activities of the diocese, facilitating the activities of dignitaries and parishioners.

At the same time, we acknowledge the efforts of Archbishop Nguyen Chi Linh and other Archbishops, priests, monks and nuns, and the contributions of dignitaries and Catholics inside and outside the diocese who have contributed to building the common home of the Hue Archdiocese.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Nguyen Hai Trung hopes that in the coming years, Archbishop Dang Duc Ngan, in his new position, will continue to care for and guide the dignitaries, monks, and parishioners of the Hue Archdiocese to promote the traditions and good achievements of the Archdiocese, and to implement the direction of the Catholic Church of Vietnam in the 1980 General Letter, which is "Living the Gospel in the heart of the nation".

Continue to build a good relationship between the Church and Party committees and authorities at all levels, Hue City, Quang Tri Province; join hands with authorities at all levels in social security work, helping the disadvantaged, spreading the good, humane values ​​of Catholicism in social life.
