Provincial People's Committee leaders work with the Provincial Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education

On April 16, Comrade Nguyen Long Bien, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee had a working session with the Provincial Center for Supporting the Development of Inclusive Education (Center) on the Center's operations, facilities and equipment. Attending were leaders of relevant departments, branches and the Ninh Phuoc District People's Committee.

The Center was established in 2015 under Decision No. 1139/2015/QD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee. The Center's facilities were transferred from the Ninh Phuoc District Vocational Training Center, so the classrooms, tables, chairs and other equipment are not suitable for students with disabilities and have seriously degraded. In the 2023-2024 school year, the Center has 16 staff, teachers and employees responsible for teaching 76 students/6 classes; including 13 students with intellectual disabilities, 11 students with hearing impairments, 13 students with autism, 14 students with severe disabilities over 7 years old and 15 children with early intervention.

At the meeting, the Center proposed that the Provincial People's Committee direct departments and branches to study and create favorable conditions for the Center to move to Phan Rang - Thap Cham City. While waiting for the approval of the above proposal, the Center proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and departments and branches create favorable conditions to support the Center in repairing degraded facilities; increase the Center's staff according to State regulations; and at the same time, have a special mechanism to provide regular funding for the Center.

Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee shared the difficulties and concerns of the Center. At the same time, he requested the Department of Education and Training and related departments and branches to coordinate with the People's Committee of Phan Rang - Thap Cham City to select a location to move the Center to Phan Rang - Thap Cham City; work with the Ministry of Education and Training to grasp the planning of the system of specialized educational facilities for people with disabilities and the system of centers to support the development of inclusive education for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 to seek support; coordinate in building a public investment portfolio for the coming period; pay attention to supplementing teaching equipment, repairing facilities, reviewing and supplementing staff for the Center... For the Center, it is necessary to promote communication work to create a spread, attract investment sources, and social attention to the work of caring for and supporting the development of inclusive education for students with disabilities.
