Four top-ranked players were invited to participate: Tran Quyet Chien (Vietnam), Dick Jaspers (Netherlands), Tayfun Tasdemir (Turkey), and Cho Myung-woo (South Korea). A map of China, violating Vietnam's territorial sovereignty, appeared in a slow-motion replay of the match between Tran Quyet Chien and Dick Jaspers.
