Official welcoming ceremony for President Vo Van Thuong's visit to the Republic of Austria

According to VNA, at 10:30 a.m. on July 24 (local time), the official welcoming ceremony for President Vo Van Thuong and his wife on an official visit to the Republic of Austria took place solemnly at the hall of Hofburg Palace, Vienna, the capital of Austria.

Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen and his wife hosted the welcoming ceremony.

The welcoming ceremony included a parade of honor guards, honor guards, and military bands, including hundreds of soldiers in formal uniforms, standing solemnly along the red carpet, welcoming the two leaders according to the protocol reserved for heads of state.

The welcoming ceremony demonstrates Austria's special regard for promoting the friendship and traditional cooperative relationship of more than 50 years with Vietnam.

Hofburg Palace was built in the 13th century and is a place associated with the history of the Austrian State. This was the Royal Palace, the residence of many generations of Kings, Emperors of Austria and the greatest noble families in the history of Europe and Austria in ancient times.

President Alexander Van der Bellen and his wife welcomed President Vo Van Thuong and his wife as soon as the motorcade stopped in front of the Hofburg Palace.

After shaking hands and greeting, President Alexander Van der Bellen and President Vo Van Thuong entered the position of honor on the red carpet.

Austria was one of the first European countries to establish diplomatic relations with Vietnam (in 1972).

After more than 50 years, Vietnam - Austria relations are developing well in many fields. The two sides maintain contact and exchange of delegations at high and all levels.

Vietnam is Austria's largest trading partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The Vietnamese community in Austria currently has about 6,000 people, and is highly appreciated by the local government for its positive contributions to the host country.

According to the program, after the high-level talks, President Vo Van Thuong and President Alexander Van der Bellen will hold a joint press conference and witness the signing ceremony of cooperation documents between the two countries.
