The World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee from October 10 to 12 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center - a world cultural heritage recognized by UNESCO.

"Common home" of the world

The festival is a key foreign cultural activity of Vietnam in 2025, gathering 48 participating countries with 45 national cultural spaces, 34 international culinary booths, 23 domestic and foreign art troupes, 12 units introducing books and publications, and 22 countries participating in international film screening programs.

The World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee from October 10 to 12 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Heritage Center.

"Although it is the first time, the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is recognized as a cultural event with a record number of participating representative agencies," said the organizers. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism also emphasized that the record number of participating representative agencies demonstrates the strong attraction of Hanoi, a center of cultural convergence, where civilizations meet and spread noble human values. Thang Long Imperial Citadel will become the "common home" of the world, where music, colors, flavors and emotions blend in an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity.

With the motto "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 is not only a large-scale cultural event, but also a typical cultural foreign activity of Vietnam in 2025, aiming to become an annual event of international stature. Here, the public will be able to admire unique cultural colors, from performing arts, music, folk dance, traditional costumes to cinema, fine arts and world cuisine.

A vivid cultural picture

The festival is designed with many experiential activities, performances, and interactions with the public throughout the 3 days. The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of October 10 at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel, bringing together many famous Vietnamese artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy... and international artists, bringing emotional performances, harmoniously combining tradition and modernity. The closing ceremony on October 12 with the participation of Truc Nhan, Hoang Thuy Linh... and many international artists, promises to bring energetic performances.

The ceremonies all combine cross-cultural performances and 3D Mapping projections, which are the convergence of 5 continents in creative light and solidarity. All are moved in three-dimensional space with the message that Culture is the bridge of humanity, creativity is the common language of the world. Taking place on the evening of October 11 at the central stage, the program "Heritage Footsteps" is a unique highlight of the festival, gathering nearly 100 traditional costumes from participating countries. This is the richest and most magnificent international national costume performance ever in Vietnam.

The program is not only an artistic fashion show, but also a journey to honor heritage and identity, where each costume tells the story of culture, history and spirit of the nation. Here, the audience will admire the brilliant diversity of the world through the language of colors, materials and traditional patterns.

On the "Cultural Road", visitors can visit booths from nearly 50 countries such as China, Korea, Japan, the US, Russia, France, Iran, Angola, Laos, the Philippines... The booths introduce the characteristics of history, art, language, costumes and customs of the countries. Visitors also have the opportunity to experience wearing traditional costumes of Vietnam and other countries, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of international exchange.

Within the framework of the festival, the international film screening program will introduce outstanding Vietnamese and international cinema works at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Hall, serving cinema lovers in a historical and cultural space. Visitors can also explore multinational cuisine and participate in culinary workshops to learn about typical dishes of many different cultures.

Exciting and attractive are the art performances, taking place on October 11 and 12 with the participation of Vietnamese and international artists. Many unique Vietnamese art performances are performed such as Central Highlands gong, Bac Ninh quan ho, cheo, chau van, folk dance... International performances come from Japan, Russia, Cambodia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Iran, Cuba, Romania, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Palestine, Venezuela, UAE, Philippines...

The World Culture Festival not only honors cultural diversity, but also demonstrates the spirit of humanity - when people, regardless of language or skin color, still share the same heart and spirit of solidarity, joining hands to heal the world, for a better life. The event space will close with the image of hundreds of lit candles, symbolizing the light of humanity, empathy and belief in a bright future.

Charity auction and donations to support flood victims

According to Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), the World Cultural Festival in Hanoi 2025 will take place with the participation of many international friends, artists, social organizations, businesses and Vietnamese people.

The event is not only a friendly meeting of cultures around the world, but also a humanitarian journey towards people who are heavily affected by natural disasters, demonstrating the spirit of international solidarity in solving common global challenges, including the issue of climate change, which no country can stand aside from.

In particular, the charity auction and donation program attracted a strong response. All funds raised will be transferred to localities affected by floods, to support the reconstruction of houses, schools and civil works.
