On April 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, the signing ceremony of the Strategic Cooperation Agreement between the Vietnam Traders Arbitration Center (VTA) and the Beihai Asia International Arbitration Center (BAIAC) took place.

BAIAC is an arbitration center based in Singapore to resolve international commercial disputes arising in the process of Asian trade cooperation and trade linkage between China and ASEAN+6. VTA is an agency to resolve disputes arising in production, business and corporate governance activities in accordance with the law, with an understanding of the culture and business environment in Vietnam and according to international arbitration standards.
Attending the signing ceremony were Professor Steve Ngo, Chairman of BAIAC; Mr. Pham Xuan Sang, Chairman of VTA, along with members of the Executive Board, Arbitrators and the VTA Secretariat. Attending and witnessing the signing ceremony was Mr. Dang The Duc, Managing Attorney of Indochine Counsel Law Firm.

The cooperation agreement between VTA and BAIAC is the basis for promoting alternative dispute resolution (ADR) methods, including dispute resolution by arbitration in Vietnam, Singapore, China and other countries in the region.

Under the cooperation agreement, VTA and BAIAC will: (i) Coordinate the organization of conferences, seminars, workshops or other events on international arbitration in Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore; (ii) Introduce arbitrators and admit arbitrators to the list of arbitrators of each Party; (iii) Provide support in terms of venues, facilities and means for BAIAC arbitration activities held in Ho Chi Minh City and VTA arbitration activities held in Singapore; (iv) Enhance information exchange, experience sharing and promote cooperation between the two parties.
