On June 6 and 7, in Kien Luong district ( Kien Giang province), the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 coordinated with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee, Kien Luong District Party Committee - People's Committee to organize activities in the program "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in 2025.

Accordingly, on the morning of June 6, the Command of Coast Guard Region 4 organized propaganda and dissemination of laws to more than 200 delegates who are civil servants, officials, members and fishing boat owners, fishermen in Kien Luong district; distributed more than 1,000 leaflets, 200 propaganda handbooks, 180 books to fishermen. At the same time, in coordination with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, 600 national flags, 30 photos of Uncle Ho, 30 medical bags for fishing boats; presented 30 gifts (each worth 1,000,000 VND) to 30 fishing families in difficult circumstances.

The Command of Coast Guard Region 4 has disseminated the law on combating IUU fishing to hundreds of fishermen in Kien Luong district.
On June 7, the most prominent activity in the program's series of activities was the final round of the contest "I love my homeland's sea and islands" for middle school students in Kien Luong district.
The contest was held at Kien Luong 1 Secondary School and was exciting, with the participation of more than 100 finalists, representing nearly 4,800 students in Kien Luong district.
More than 100 Kien Luong Secondary School students entered the final round of the competition.
The competition was quite exciting.
After this round, the organizing committee will select 50 students with the best results to participate in the provincial and regional finals with students from Ca Mau, Bac Lieu and Soc Trang provinces.

Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong and Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of Kien Giang Provincial Party Committee Thai Chau Bau presented the contest logo to representatives of the Department of Education and Training and representatives of secondary schools in Kien Luong district.
The contest was held in two rounds, online and in person. At the end of the online round with more than 3,500 registrations and more than 10,200 entries, the organizing committee awarded certificates of merit to 105 students with excellent achievements and 3 groups with good achievements in coordinating the contest.
In the live round (final round), with more than 100 students passing the online round to compete, the organizing committee awarded first prize to Duong Ngoc Thao Nguyen - class 6/3, Hoa Dien Secondary School, Kien Luong district.
Through the contest, the Coast Guard Region 4 Command awarded 80 scholarships (each worth 1,000,000 VND) to students in difficult circumstances to encourage them to excel in their studies.
Speaking at the contest, Colonel Nguyen Thai Duong, Deputy Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 4 Command, said that Vietnam’s seas and islands are an inseparable part of our country. They are not only majestic and rich in beauty, but also a place where generations of fathers and grandfathers have continuously preserved and protected with their blood and dreams of peace.
