According to Reuters news agency, the exercise took place on June 4 in waters off the provinces of Occidental Mindoro and Zambales, far from disputed areas, including close-shore coordination activities as well as fire support.
In a statement, the Armed Forces of the Philippines said: "The Maritime Cooperation Activity (MCA) is a testament to the resolve of both countries to strengthen cooperation and enhance interoperability in accordance with international law."
The joint patrol also included the Philippine ship Miguel Malvar, a 118-meter guided-missile frigate that was commissioned last month.
This is one of two frigates built by South Korea's Hyundai Heavy Industries as part of the Philippines' military modernization program.
