80th Anniversary of Vietnam People's Public Security Traditional Day

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Tong Thi Phong, former Politburo member, former Standing Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly; Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Dinh Viet, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; former provincial leaders; Standing members of the Provincial People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee; leaders of departments, branches, unions, agencies, and units; Standing Party Committees of 75 communes and wards in the province; former leaders of the Provincial Police through the periods, relatives of families of martyrs and wounded soldiers of the People's Public Security; delegation of the Hua Phan Provincial Police, Lao PDR; and many officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police; advanced models, authors who won prizes in the Contest for composing literary, artistic, and photographic works.

At the ceremony, Major General Dang Trong Cuong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Party Secretary, Director of the Provincial Police Department, presented a speech, reviewing the 80-year tradition of building, fighting and growing of the Son La Police force.

Immediately after the uprising to seize power, on October 10, 1945, the Son La Public Security Department was established, the first predecessor of the Son La Public Security Force. Born in the storm of revolution, matured in the fire of war and steadfast in the renovation process, generations of the Son La Public Security Force are always proud of their heroic tradition. 80 years of building, fighting and growing under the glorious flag of the Party, the Son La People's Public Security Force has achieved many feats in the cause of protecting national security and maintaining social order and safety. The victory of the security protection cause originated from the wise leadership of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security , the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the People's Committee of Son La province, which is the combined strength of the forces with the spirit of solidarity, friendship and assistance, and the effectiveness of professional measures. Attaching importance to the mass movement to protect national security, strengthening the relationship between the Police and the People, coordinating in combat with the People's Army and relevant sectors; the love, support and assistance of the People. That victory is also the correct and creative application of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's laws in the cause of protecting national security. In recognition of its achievements in the cause of fighting for national liberation and protecting security and order, the Son La Police force has been awarded many noble titles by the Party and the State.

Along with the emulation movement "For National Security", the National Day for National Security Protection is always enthusiastically responded to by the masses in the area, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere in preventing and fighting against crimes, promoting the combined strength of the entire political system, building a solid people's security foundation and people's security posture from the grassroots, contributing to protecting national security and order in the area.

Speaking at the Commemoration Ceremony, Comrade Lo Minh Hung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee congratulated, acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements and feats of the Son La Police force over the past 80 years, contributing to beautifying the traditional flag of the heroic People's Public Security force; praising the forces protecting security and order at the grassroots level, protecting agencies, enterprises and self-governing mass organizations for their important contributions to ensuring security and order, promoting economic, cultural and social development of the locality. The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested that in the coming time, the Son La Police force continue to thoroughly grasp the guidelines and viewpoints of the Central Public Security Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee on the task of protecting national security, ensuring social order and safety and building the Son La Police force, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new period; speeding up the transformation of key and complicated areas in terms of security and order; Proactively grasp and forecast the situation to promptly advise local Party committees and authorities to direct and mobilize the political system to participate in ensuring security and order, not to be passive or surprised; resolutely attack and suppress all types of crimes and social evils, not to allow the formation of organized crimes and "gangster"-style activities; focus on building a clean, strong, disciplined, elite, and modern public security force to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation; be strong and determined in innovating all aspects of public security work, applying science and technology in all aspects of work.

Units with outstanding achievements were awarded the Emulation Flag by the Prime Minister.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister awarded the Emulation Flag to 3 collectives and a Certificate of Merit to 1 individual. The Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province presented the Son La Provincial Police with a banner with the content "The Son La Provincial Police force promotes the tradition of 80 years of building, fighting and growing (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) of solidarity, discipline, and responsibility for national security and for the happiness of the people". The Minister of Public Security awarded Certificates of Merit to 3 individuals and 1 collective and awarded the title "Emulation Fighter of the entire People's Public Security force" to 5 individuals. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 23 individuals.

The Provincial Police Director awarded prizes to competitions organized by the Provincial Police on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the People's Public Security Force's Traditional Day.

In addition, the Provincial Police announced and awarded prizes to 124 individuals who won the Contest for composing and promoting literary and artistic works on the topic of security and order with the theme "People's Police - 80 years of building, fighting and growing up" in the Son La People's Police force; awarded prizes to 19 contestants who won the Provincial Writing Contest to learn about the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam People's Police, the 20th anniversary of the Festival "All people protect national security" in the Son La People's Police force.
