(CLO) The Don Ca Tai Tu Festival in Ca Mau province aims to evaluate the quality of work in preserving and promoting the value of the art form that has been recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
On the evening of December 5, in Dam Doi town, Ca Mau province, the opening ceremony of the 8th Southern Amateur Music Festival 2024 was held.
Activities within the framework of the Festival taking place from December 5-7 include: Don ca tai tu Festival, sports exchanges and exhibition of Don ca tai tu art images and socio -economic development achievements of Dam Doi district.

This festival has over 100 artists and amateurs from Don ca tai tu troupes in the province participating. This is a reunion of talented artists and amateurs, promising to contribute to the public smooth and profound lyrics and playing, weaving the picture of the festival more sparkling, vibrant and colorful.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, said that the jury will work impartially, objectively and accurately, helping the Organizing Committee to correctly assess the ability of each performance, selecting excellent amateur musicians and singers in the festival to supplement new elements, becoming the core force for the Don ca tai tu movement of the province.
At the same time, introduce to the locality to pay attention to developing the mass cultural and artistic movement at the grassroots level in general and especially amateur art - reformed opera in particular.
Right after the opening ceremony was a performance program of 3 units: Don ca tai tu club of Dam Doi district, Ca Mau city and Ngoc Hien district.
