T HUNDRED FLOWERS BLOOM
In just a short time, Ho Chi Minh City audiences have enjoyed many genres of drama with many performance styles, in which the most prominent are still psychological, social, and tragic dramas - each unit has its own style, creating a colorful flower garden.

Serious and standard, there are Mom! Ut dia (IDECAF), Last Dream (Hoang Thai Thanh), Ben lua long (5B), Dut dong to dang (Hong Van stage), Tieng chim vuon ngoc (Trang Cinema Stage Company), Cu lao noi song (Nguyen Vinh Loc Company). With a musical feel, there is Giang Huong (Thien Dang), Bong canh co (Hong Van stage). Horror colors include Dem vuon gibbon (5B). Youthful and lively, there are Lo nho phan thuong, Ong gia doan lo to ( The Gioi Tre ), Dau ngot (Truong Hung Minh stage)... - this is still the strength of Ho Chi Minh City stage because it targets the market, the audience buys tickets every week, so choosing this genre is the most suitable.
In fact, most of the plays were not staged for competition but were staged to sell tickets in advance, so they had a real life and were "evaluated" by the audience before attending the festival.
The surprising and also quite large section is traditional revolutionary drama. Towards the 50th anniversary of national reunification in 2025, many units have staged this section of drama, which can continue to perform after the festival. Iron Flower (Ho Chi Minh City College of Culture and Arts), Heaven's Gate Day (Trinh Kim Chi stage), Comrade (Ho Chi Minh City Theater Association), Aspiration for Peace (Ho Chi Minh City Drama Theater), White Virgin Flowers (New Impression Media and Entertainment Company), Burning Field (Quoc Thao stage) are such plays. The audience is surprised by the softness and "real life" of the revolutionary-themed plays; there is little exhortation or drama, so it evokes very good emotions and sympathy. Even some heroic plays cleverly insert charming comedy layers such as Firey Field, Heaven's Gate Day, the audience enjoys watching them all the way through without feeling heavy.
In addition, we can see epic historical plays such as Le Van Duyet - the man with 9 death sentences (IDECAF), or lively children's plays such as The Adventures of Mexico (Truong Hung Minh stage), Colora the Glorious Country (Ban Mai stage). It is truly a rich performance of an energetic city.
Through the festival, we can see the overall picture of Ho Chi Minh City theater scene more clearly. Although there are still plays that follow the easy market and perform to make a living, we cannot deny the efforts of the artists through this first festival.
SOCIALIZED THEATRE IS THE MAIN FOCUS
Having such diversity is thanks to the fact that Ho Chi Minh City's stage has been socialized for a long time, the units have found their own direction, struggled with the market to survive, helping all possibilities to be unleashed and developed. To be more precise, the festival is a demonstration of the real strength of Ho Chi Minh City's stage, which is mainly socialized stage, artists spend their own money to do it. They don't have to wait until the festival to start, but operate regularly, interact regularly, understand the audience and bring what the audience needs, the audience likes. That is the reason why even when staging revolutionary plays, the socialized stage is still soft and easy to watch. There are artists who don't have a regular unit, have to wait for occasions like this to appear, they still perform very closely, touchingly, because they live in the atmosphere of the socialized stage every day; or they can participate in movies, which is also socialization. Even students of theater schools or theater training centers have more opportunities to be active, creating an open theater ecosystem.

From this experience, it can be seen that the biggest advantage of the Ho Chi Minh City stage is to expand and develop, creating opportunities for talents to appear, creating a rich and vibrant cultural life at all times, not waiting for festivals.
But from here, dedicated professionals have more thoughts, should the state take advantage of good plays in the festival, invest in them, so that the plays can be more widely popularized to the public. Many plays participating in the festival deserve to have a part of the investment refunded by the state, or "buy the stage" to perform for free for students, teachers, workers, etc., and audiences who can hardly afford to buy tickets. In particular, historical plays and children's plays are works that should be popularized.
