The event, organized by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City according to Plan 110/KH-UBND dated September 29, 2025, continues to affirm the city's position as an international meeting place for martial arts schools.
The festival was built to honor the martial spirit of Vietnam, promote the image of a country that loves peace , humanity and integration. Through a series of professional activities, exchanges and performances, Ho Chi Minh City wants to expand cooperation in sports, culture and tourism with friends around the world.
During the three days from November 21 to 23, IMAF 2025 took place with a lot of exciting content. The focus was the International Martial Arts Science Conference 2025, gathering nearly 100 scientists, experts and martial artists from 7 countries. Five speakers from home and abroad presented papers, analyzing the relationship between martial arts, culture and heritage in the new context. The in-depth discussion session chaired by Dr. Ly Dai Nghia recorded 27 professional recommendations, considered important suggestions for the development strategy of Vietnamese martial arts in the integration period.
Along with that is a series of highly applicable training courses. On Le Loi walking street, Indonesian experts introduced Tarung Derajat with enthusiastic lessons. Aikido masters taught self-defense skills, attracting a large number of people. At the Ho Chi Minh City Sports Training and Training Center, Korean experts organized a systematic Hapkido training program for young athletes. On the afternoon of November 22 and 23, Le Loi Walking Street transformed into a "stage" for more than 30 martial arts performances. Powerful punches, graceful movements combined with drum sounds and rhythmic shouts brought a vibrant visual feast, attracting thousands of spectators and tourists. The competition was not only a performance playground but also showed the vitality of the martial arts movement in Ho Chi Minh City: young, creative and full of identity.
IMAF 2025 also marks a new step for city sports in applying technology. Martial artists, athletes and people can check the force, speed and accuracy of their punches with real-time analysis data. This activity shows the digital transformation orientation of the sports industry, considering technology as the foundation to improve the quality of training and competition.
In addition to expertise, the Festival also spreads the spirit of mutual love. The organizing committee mobilized 1 billion VND from accompanying units and gave all of it to the flood victims through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. This is an action that clearly demonstrates the spirit of "humanity and martial arts", using martial arts to spread humanitarian values through specific contributions.
The Ho Chi Minh City International Martial Arts Festival - IMAF 2025 has ended, but the message of connection, creativity and martial arts continues to spread. The event is not only a meeting place for different martial arts, but also a cultural bridge and a space for sharing knowledge and aspirations of Ho Chi Minh City sports in the new era. The Organizing Committee would like to thank the city leaders, martial arts federations, accompanying units, along with the team of martial artists, coaches, athletes and fans who have contributed to creating a successful, impressive and humane Festival.
