On March 18, the Vietnam U22 team settled down and started their first training session in Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province (China) to prepare for the CFA Team China 2025 international U22 tournament.
Before the training session, the coaching staff held a team meeting to elect the executive committee. Accordingly, midfielder Nguyen Van Truong was trusted to hold the captain's armband, while the two vice-captains were striker Nguyen Quoc Viet and defender Nguyen Nhat Minh.
It is not too surprising that midfielder Nguyen Van Truong of Hanoi FC is given the captain's armband. The player born in 2003 has quite a bit of experience as he has been called up to the Vietnam National Team many times.
On the same day, March 18, the coaching staff deployed a training plan to have the most proactive solutions for the match taking place on March 20.
Coach Dinh Hong Vinh said that because the tournament organizers did not arrange for the teams to practice on the field to maintain the grass, U22 Vietnam will visit the Yancheng Olympic Sports Center Stadium tomorrow. This will help the players have a better visual sense of the competition venue.
Also tomorrow morning (March 19), representatives of the team's coaching staff will attend a technical meeting to agree on relevant contents in the tournament's regulations. Meanwhile, coach Dinh Hong Vinh will attend a press conference with the head coaches of the U22 teams of Korea, Uzbekistan and China.
With a high level of concentration and careful preparation, U22 Vietnam is aiming for a positive result in the opening match against U22 Korea at 2:30 p.m. on March 20. The chance to compete with strong teams at the CFA Team Team China 2025 international U22 tournament is of great significance to U22 Vietnam in their journey towards the 2026 U23 Asian qualifiers and the 33rd SEA Games.
